what do you all have on the clock?

im going to possible get a supra on saturday TT auto 1994 with 85k £5500 on the clock with fsh ect however i did want allot less on the clock, i will probs do between 200 and 300 miles a month( work, and to newcastle and back excluding jap shows for next year), should mileage bother me?

The only reason i dont like high miles is that in the future if coming to sell, it will be allot harder to shift a car with 120k and it will drop in value allot, is that a issue to worry about, try comfort me here i really like the car however bit scared about having 85k on the clock...

just over 70k here.

I wouldn't worry at all about 85k to be honest. Seems a good price for the car you're getting, what are the full pecs of the car?

I wouldn't be too worried about reliability either. These engines can take a fair bit of stick and many have seen much higher mileage that that. I'd ask whether the cambelt has been changed though.

i dont think the touch up on the front bumper will cost much a full bumper respray is £200 however you can always tell its been resprayed as the front looks more shiney then the rest, lights look fogged, probs swap them for face lift lights or get them done by gzaerojon, radiator dont know how much that will cost hopefully not allot, and may invest in front and rear retrim covers from this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=122043

I think I'm approaching the 49k mark, but I've heard of people running these things with such high mileage that I'm not fussed if I clock up a lot. I trust Toyota to make a good engine, as I had an N/A MkIII before the MkIV, and it was up at 147k. The engine was the only robust part when I got rid of it!

85k seems to be around the lower end of the average when you look at ones on Autotrader, Pistonheads, etc.

intercoolers they do the same job as a radiator i might just get a better one if so, what can i get for about £500

Wrong :D you'll be needing a radiator and an intercooler my friend :) you can buy a koyo rad for £250 from ebay.

:D

hi

std radiator can be around 300 notes; if its an auto you have to get auto one which has oil cooler in the bottom. Same applies if you get aftermarket you will need seperate cooler.

can I just say those lights are incredibly bad!

but for the money it may be OK.

I would also fear its been cooked I just can see how nothings been hurt by that rad repair - its shockingly bad

i spoke to the guy he advised me that it was patch 8month ago in its mot and previous to that he never had any problems, he stated that he put the car in for its mot, and the mechanic said there's a crack in the rad he can patch it or you can get a new rad but the patching is just as good as not that bad, he said that he has put lots on so it should last and since mot he has no problems and has never had over heating or leaks, i have told the guy that i do like the car but if upon inspection and i don't like it i will walk away, don't think due to traveling 250miles i don't want to walk away empty handed so i said be 100% honest is there any faults or issues, the guy is adamant there is not and all is fine, i know its his word but he does seem genuine, should i arrange rac or AA car check ?

I wouldn't let the RAC or the AA anywhere near it, why not see if a members close and could go take a look for you. Where is the car?
