Seb
I'm looking to take someone off eBay to a small claims court for selling me a fake watch - eBay has already found in my favour and given me the max possible refund (£105) and has shut down the user's account. Trouble is, I need their full details to file a claim, but eBay won't give me these unless my solicitor writes them a letter explaining everything. Problem is I don't have a solicitor, never had one, never used one and have no idea what to do, how much it would cost etc. Any help would be brilliant, thanks! hiten55
is i worth the hassle mate? probably drag on for a while, cost you loads, and give you no end of grief. but if it is worth it, then your local citizens advice bureau can help..... jase_93tt
A friend of friend thought he had got himself a right bargain off ebay a couple of years back by believing the rolex on offer was a genuine item, until a jeweller friend of mine inspected it and it turned out to be a 10$ piece of crap. Shame he paid £500 for, thinking hed saved £2500 (!) eek. No wonder the industry is booming in China.....
Guest Chumpalot
I agree with Hiten. Hardly worth the hassle over a watch to be honest. Especially if you're already received your money back.

You say that but while the most eBay could give me was £105, the watch was just over £1400...

ozz
I think many solicitors offer a free consultation hour. Might be worth taken one up on that.

colsoop
A solicitor will probably charge £30 - £50 to write you a letter. Couldn't you quote the freedom of information act to gain this info ?
