dangerous brain
Anybody met this guy before? Someone recently bought a set of rims off him for a supra. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/kcmutley/ He is being a right bell end at the mo. I won a throttle body thats fair does collection only. I was gonna get robert to pick it for me. I said as much to him but hinted postage would be easier. He came back and said that postage would be OK and gave me a rough price. So rather than pay to send it to the UK then either wait yonks for it (I'm back on Friday but I guarantee it won't arrive UK side by then and then not back for a few weeks) or then pay again to send it here to Holland I asked if he would send it to holland. This is what I get back. as the auction says no overseas bidders?????? so unless your collecting with cash? Now in my book theres absolutely no need to put more question marks than words almost. Its gobby and theres no need. A simple sorry I won't post abroad etc etc is all thats required. He got my back up a bit so I sent him this OK for starters I am not an overseas bidder i have a UK address I am just working in Holland at the moment and the car is in holland so it is more convenient for me to have a dutch address put on the item rather than my uk address. My paypal address is a UK paypal address my bank account should you desire a bank transfer is a UK nat west account. My normal delivery address is a UK address. I could even send a UK bank cheque and await that clearing. As for collecting the item I could get a mate of mine to collect it from the other side of London and post it here to me but as I just plain don't like your tone I won't do that now, theres no need to be abrupt or aggressive about it. Balls in your court now. I got this back well if you are not in the uk as far as im concerned your not a uk bidder, you should have asked first thtas what the 'ask seller a question' button is for, as to your paypal address i could not care less where its registerd in no part of the auction do i state i accept paypal. also as to you not liking my tone???? well i didnt know letters typed in a box had a tone, you take it how you want it, NOW I AM NOT SURE HOW HE MANAGED IT BUT THIS BIT WASNT IN THE ORIGINAL MESSAGE I REPLIED TO you send either a uk cheque and uk address (10 working days to clear) or send someone to collect your choice.... That has somehow added on the end and I am confused as to how its done that. Anyways just short of told him to ram it which isn't usually my style but I really dislike overly aggressive and unpleasant people. I rounded it up with this Letters typed in a box with as many question marks as words consitutes a tone in my book. You know what I can't be bothered with you chap. Keep it I will find another one to stick my water injection into or just take the car off the road for a day to fit it into and remove the trac parts. Sometimes folks on here forget that they are trying to sell something, not doing someone a huge a favour by allowing them their stuff. I'll also be posting you on mkivsupra.net and the aristo forum as someone not to bother dealing with. Many thanks for your attitude, it stinks. And just to re-itterate just because I am currently at work in Holland (I'll be back on Friday BTW) does not an overseas bidder make me. All I asked was you put a dutch address on the box not a UK one, I only asked this as you said yourself you would post the item and once paid what difference does it make where its posted to? Anyways forget it doesn't matter relist it chap Now am I out of order here? I am after all a buyer and in my book sellers should at least be polite. This for my view is completely the opposite of polite.
BASHTHEBISHOP
yep... tell him to ram it. If he leaves you bad feedback do the same. I just wouldnt give a toss in dealing with an ar$e like him. Its his sort that puts me off bothering with ebay nowadays.
Pabs
TBH I'm with you on this one - these people on ebay have no common sense, let alone decency. He sounds like a bit of a numpty to say the least. However, I always try not to get in an arguement because it just results in negative feedback and a long drawn out process of trying to remove said feedback after it's happened. But sometimes I suppose it just can't be avoided!

dangerous brain
Its a buying only account so I am not worried about feedback. Bloke can say what he likes to his hearts content. I can guarantee you I can make more of an impact with my choice of feedback than he can with his short and not sweet responses.

Shadow Beast
Sometimes people on ebay are just dam right bastards - I once saw a leopard chair that I really really really wanted but I played cool and did not show any interest, but waited to the very last minute and whacked in a £80.00 bid. No one else had bided and the start price was £35.00 so I won it for £35.00 - BONUS! All excited I sent the seller a question straight away saying that I could collect in a couple of days if that was ok for him. I got this horrible message back saying “Sorry you have lost out to a second chance bidder if you look this is in the rules” What the f**k, you cannot do that, its against the rules to do what he was trying to do and beside there were no other bidders. I looked through the rules again and the only time a seller can sell an item under a second chance option is if the winner does not pay within a reasonable time period. Anyway, I reported him and never got my chair – so you have to watch them on ebay they can’t all be trusted!!!! If he is selling Supra stuff we should now avoid him with a barge pole he seems arrogant and I would say that lots of ??????? was rude.
dangerous brain
Thank gawd for that I was sitting here thinking maybe I had gotten all flustered for no reason there. I was proper hopping mad at the time. I still can't figure out how the last part of his last communication failed to show (the part about the cheque etc) when I first read it. I re-read it a few times to measure my response and it wasn't there for sure. I check my emails and sure enough that part is there and in the ebay message box? Not sure what is going on there. Balls in your court now. To be fair, if I was him I'd have taken offence at the parts of your reply that I've marked in bold. You just don't talk like that to people whose cooperation you want. IMO it's no wonder the guy is being unhelpful now, I'd be exactly the same. Like you, I also hate people using multiple ?'s and !'s and text speak - but frankly, the world in general, and the internet in particular, is full of fuckwits that can't write anywhere near properly. You need to let it slide sometimes, especially when you need that person's cooperation.
dangerous brain
Yeah but heres the thing I don't need his co-operation. If I wasn't lazy I would go down the scrappy and get another throttle body to do what I need this one to do. I am going to paint over his wonderful polishing anyways as my engine bay is functional not blingy. I fully intended the parts you highlighted to have a sting in them as I fully intended to not buy the item as soon as he gave me gyp. I cannot stand people that act this way. I bend over backwards when it comes to a sale of an item as many I know will vouch for (even someone I see lurking here in the corner ). If you are selling something at least basic courtesy is helpful. MAybe I am a hard customer. If I go into a shop I start counting, if I don't get assistance within a certain time frame I walk out and buy elsewhere. If I don't like a salespersons attitude I walk away. I don't like this guys attitude at all. But thankyou Jake as always you keep it real buddy!!!!

Shadow Beast
At the end of the day the cutomer is always right and this ebay seller should have been polite all the way through, it is always possible to put things in a nice manner:)
dangerous brain
At the end of this day yes he could have been nicer, I certainly could have cowtailed a bit and for sure I could have just gotten rob to pick it up for me. It was just the attitude that did it for me. I didn't hugely desire the object hence why my low bid. I only wanted it to make my life a bit easier. I will satisfy myself now with the smugness involved in watching him relist.

dangerous brain
Erm maybe one or two by now as its 2 am. But to be fair I have been stewing on this since dinner time when it all kicked off. The title looks cack with spelling mistake but for some reason I never scan over the title when I type it in only the content of a post. I can't flippin edit the post title after submitting so have to appear somewhat the bumblewit to most looking at the thread title

ozz
In my humble opinion you escalated it after taking offence at a few ????s. From his point of view he may have thought you were a dodgy b*stard trying to get out of paying, pretending you were out of the country. Now we know you weren't, but he doesn't know who the hell you are, just some joker trying it on. I would have taken the ????s as highlighting confusion at you saying you were out of the country and his ad say no overseas buyers. I probably would have reacted the same with the amount of scams on ebay. You both got a bit silly after that. If it were me, I'd be the bigger man, pay for the goods and apologise for the mix up. tbourner
TBH Brian, I would say there's equal measure of bad response. Almost everyone who uses eBay is wary of international buyers and sellers, purely because there are so many scams - some people will be logical about it and with your response they would then switch back to being fine with the deal, others however just put a blanket ban on anyone who is currently outside the UK, because of fear of not being able to claim anything should they happen to get scammed (they won't look at the details, just associate non-UK with scam). Whichever person they are, your response is a bit too defensive for anyone to just accept it and carry on the deal, I'd be a bit worried dealing with someone like that! Anyway, there's nowt as queer as folk, if you didn't happen to work it out with this chap this time then that's a shitter, but that's life. I'm sure I'll remember his name now and if I ever had to deal with him I'd think twice because of this - your work here is done.
Shane
Trouble is as a Ebay buyer and occasional seller I can see it from both sides. Last year I sold a set of 16" tyres left over from my old 6 series and stated in massive bold letters about 3 times that buyer collects, so what happens muppet boy from Scotland bids and wins and then wants me to send them up to him. Nothing to do with your case DB I know, but typifies how some people bid without reading the text in the ad. As soon as someone like you contacts the seller with a honest simple request like yours was , the buyer who is probably sick of muppets like tyre guy in my case is over sensitive and comes over all snotty. I have to say and sorry for this but it is the truth......I have bought from the seller in your case and the transaction was as smooth as. I bought some pulleys for the supercharger project, paid on Tuesday and they arrived on Wednesday, but of course mine was a straight forward transaction in terms of the address. Let us know how you get on.
dangerous brain
Yeah with time to calm down a bit I can understand what you are saying Shane. But to be honest a reply along the lines of sorry I don't post stuff abroad would have sufficed. I would then simply have gone back to the original deal of having it collected. I am aware of ebay scammers etc etc and know they are frustrating swines that should be burned alive at the stake, but assuming every buyer is one and getting snotty with them is only going to result in a loss of sales as in this case. It is a bit daft to then reciprocate the bad attitude with one even worse but when riled I do tend to get very defensive, maybe even a tad offensive ooops My bad

It is a bit daft to then reciprocate the bad attitude with one even worse but when riled I do tend to get very defensive, maybe even a tad offensive ooops My bad You know what though, it is so typical of so many transactions nowadays. I mean nothing seems straightforward anymore. I have this week and next off work, planned to spend mon,tue and wed working on the supercharger project. On Monday I discovered that I had miss measured the belt lengths and the ones I had bought were too short. So I got onto the supplier and ordered that correct ones asking him to send them out next day and I would fit the bill. He tells me that he has one in stock down in kent and the other would come direct form the makers. The one he sent came special delivery and the other one was meant to be coming "business post" courier at a cost of £13. Sure enough the one he sent was with me by 11 yesterday and I am still waiting on the other. I managed to get a tracking number and they claimed they had the wrong address, so gave them the correct address and waited in again all day and hey guess what they still haven't delivered it. They now claim that the driver received the correct address too late and that he had already passed through here and they want to deliver it in the morning, or I have to do a 30 mile round trip to collect it. VERY VERY annoying. I leave for holls in Romania tomorrow and have a midday crossing so need to be away from here by 8ish ARGHHHHH!!!! So you see Brian it's not just you who has hassle with deliveries.
