michael
The Hungry Horse in Bristol used to do a really nice caramel danish pudding, good value on the food too, if it was "Zebo" then it tasted good.
Jake
it had 67% dna of zebo meat when tested but doesn't a lettuce have 90+% the same DNA as the human body?
garethr
Zebu -- just a type of domestic cattle, originally from Asia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebu

juanchan
Surely, seeing as chimps and people share 99.9% DNA (I'm sure the figure's something like that), then we shouldn't be surprised when one type of cow has 67% of the DNA of another type of cow?! michael
1. Does it look OK? 2. Does it taste OK? 3. Eat and enjoy.
ivan
With all the scares about UK meat I'm not surprised some food outlets have turned to alternative suppliers. But how can a steak have 67% Zebu meat? That would make the animal it came from 67% Zebu (and 33% ???).
garethr
The steaks come from Brazilian cattle, cattle in Brazil are Zebu crosses, their DNA is 67% Zebu (probably 67.1875% -- 43/64).
ivan
Ah, that's fine then. I don't have a problem with S American beef - I eat it all the time.
Ewen
I've always had a soft spot for Aberdeen Angus. The name always puzzled me. Tough, gristly, but overall my favorite landlady.
Guigsy
looks like a cow. tastes like a cow. then it is a cow! i thaught it was the plural of zebra at first. One zebra, many zebu
Thorin
Yeah if it tastes alright I'm not bothered. The main issue really is that they were advertising it as "100% Prime British Beef" when not one word of that is correct, it should be "67% Cheap Brazilian Zebu"
