Sharpie
I'm sure I read they make parts for something like 10yrs after production of the last model (that would make it 2012) but, only in 2005 I found that they had stopped making the seat belt anchors and had to find an alternative Toyota part # to complete my install. F.Y.I. I used P/N 73230-14490-C0 and cut off the electrical connector. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14414&d=1113674710 So, does anyone know the official line ? I guess there is not much call for Seat belt anchors but, when will they stop producing parts that are high volume for us lot ?
Gazboy
I always thought they were obliged to make spares for 8 years after production.
Havard
I always thought they were obliged to make spares for 8 years after production. Not sure if it's the same for different industries but i work for a pump manufacturer and we have to keep making parts for 10 years!! H. SupraStar 3000
I thought it was 10 years. That fella on Supraforums managed to build a new supra from all the parts bought over a toyota service desk.
rob wild
I think Rover/MG owners had as much of a bum deal! Really dont wont to be a Rover bore but apparently Caterpillar bought the tooling and right to produce spares for them for the next 15 years. Or that's what a mate of mine told me that works for garage that repairs them and yes he is busy

Chris Wilson
Some things are no longer available now, rear axle (diff) assemblies, for example. Car makers would LIKE to bin all the stuff for cars over 10 years old, but Toyota are fairly good compared to some others. Don't expect the aftermarket to tool up to make bits for the MKIV, it's not going to happen save for a few odd bits and bobs. the market for MK 1 Escort bits, early 911 bits, et cetera is a totally different ball game. I think they have all of the tooling except for the MGTF etc, because of the Nanjing thing. Something like that anyway. Mark
dr_blackman
lol another 10 years and will all have shiney Supra's that just dont work due to lack of parts Hey least they will look good!
bodilx6
I have bought original parts for my old MKII I parted with after 20 years. Some were hard to get but not impossible. Following that, the MKIII was no prob at all. So I don't think the MKIV will be an issue for quite some years. Furthermore a lot of them are still around world wide, so if they can make money from keeping parts in stock, wouldn't they do that?
Daston
TVR owners are fine depending on the model TVR Carparts have bought most of the rights to the 99% of the parts and still churn them out. As well as all the body molds
RedM
lol another 10 years and will all have shiney Supra's that just dont work due to lack of parts Hey least they will look good! Speak for yourself. All I ever seem to do is replace bits that you can't see unless you poke around in or under the car. Mine will still be running but it'll look shite! Oh, for some bling! Chris Wilson
Yes, you can no longer buy a new UK diff assembly, only the parts, and maybe not all of those.

adi2009
Yes, you can no longer buy a new UK diff assembly, only the parts, and maybe not all of those. I think the US diffs are still available though! Curt Aigner has removed the Jap (3.27) ring and pinion set off the list. Think the diff assembly is still available over there. Anyways, got a new diff earlier this year so I m
