Matt H
Hmm, not to my taste I'm afraid, especially the colour and the fake rear diffuser thingie. Looks nicely executed though It's all totally subjective, of course, I mean I just LOVE the look of a Rolls Mulliner Park Ward Continental III, a Lancia Gamma Coupe, and Volvo P1800's. And no, I don't have a 240 any more, I have gone vastly upmarket to a V90 estate with a mouse living in it (And a Daewoo Matiz with bent valves). Well i suppose i'll start taking you seriously when you get rid of the insane wildlife in your back garden!!
Pete
Anyway, all the Daewoo has to do is either get my wife to work, or sit quietly in the pub car park until someone is sober enough to collect it It's not really doing that very effectively either at the moment is it? Thorin
Wrong, only the Daewoo is FWD, a V90 (and S90) is the very last of the RWD Volvos.Anyway, all the Daewoo has to do is either get my wife to work, or sit quietly in the pub car park until someone is sober enough to collect it Well I stand corrected I thought the 760/960's were the last RWD ones. I know the 850's were FWD Anyway, all the Daewoo has to do is either get my wife to work, or sit quietly in the pub car park until someone is sober enough to collect it Until the next Supra owner comes to collect their car so they can drop you off to collect it you mean? imi
Certainly many of the younger members from the Max Power generation aspire to owning a street machine akin to those seen in the Fast and the Furious upgrading from their euro 'hot' hatches. Gazboy
Please discuss, has good taste in body styling, paint colour and wheel choice gone from the Supra community as prices have fallen? Has creating a car to mirror the dreadful pages of the car magazines aimed at the young car owner taken over from independent thought and restrained modifications? Example, the guy building the wide bodied car that features in its own thread. I personally would try and get a front bumper that mirrored the stock one in style, have no side skirts at all, leave any form of "spoiler" or "wing" off the back end, and just stop with the clean wide body look, with the wing vents. It looks superb right now, but i just KNOW it's going to go downhill from now on, please prove me wrong!! I now endure comments from people saying how a once desirable and expensive car has now sunk into a canvas for comic book modifications, ear bleedingly loud exhausts and the general opinion that the owners should be kept away from their daughters I know styling is subjective, but are car owners being led, sheep-like, into believing some of these body kits are the thing to have, like the Kings new clothes? I haven't read any more of the thread other than this original post. Spot on. Chris Wilson for PM.
Chris Wilson
It's not really doing that very effectively either at the moment is it? It's doing the sitting quietly bit to perfection!

Guest Nicholas
I believe a few members may be looking at going back to stock form. I think Miami (Nick) returned his to stock before he sold the Gunmetal Supe. It looked lovely. I'm not a fan of body kits either and as Greg said removed my full top secret kit in favour of the stock look. I think a kit can look good but it takes lots of money to get the fit right and as stated earlier in this thread not many people can afford to do it! I remember people telling me how stupid I was to take the body kit off my gunmetal supra.. before and after pics below so you can make your own mind up. My new supra will be staying 100% stock looking.

But thats just my opinion .

But thats just my opinion . I agree in photos it looks great what you can't see is the double sided sticky tape holding the sideskirts on or the poor fit of the skirts against the sills and body of the car along with the top secret front bumper against the bonnet I think it's down to personal taste but park a kitted supra next to a stock one and see which looks the best

uzthedentist
in 1997 when gran turismo came out i saw the 3000gt supra and thought 'one day im going to have that car' then in the early noughties i became obsessed with the drift cars coming out of japan and thats how i created my supra. Its the type that chris will probably hate with a passion lol
Pabs
With more and more "fugly" supra's appearing - it just makes the nice ones soooo much more desirable. So long as you own one of the latter, you'll be fine.

mathew
i went through a phase of wanting a heavily kitted supra but then i woke up one day with completely different views. i know then that a tidy stock supra with a nice set of wheels was the type for me and thats what i got now and love it. although i still appriciate a nicely kitted supra

Im not sure on later editions and cant really be bothered to look, but i dont recall any of the TRD3000 kitted Supras in any edition of it.
