which suspension setup do i go for? i have around £700 to spend. Thinking of one of the following:

D2's

Tein SS with edfc

i like the idea of being able to make the ride smoother when i take kids or my parents out, and ive heard the D2's are good but a bit harsh.

Any other suggestions? im totally confused lol.

Did a search and it made me think about the mono flexs from tein - but they may be a bit out of budget...

im also getting a full geo setup done once they are fitted...

When I change my suspension I was just planning on upgrading to Billstien's (if thats how you spell it) and keep the stock spring's as the front end is low enough as it is. I've heard Chris Wilson does a very good suspension setup but I dont know how much it is. I've also read that Billstien's with tien springs are a good setup.

i'd love the cw setup but i'll never be able to afford it. dont want to spend that much at the moment which is why ive decided on one of the two above. ive heard the bilstein/ tein combo is good, but want to try a all in one combo if that makes sense. never had a full set of coilovers before but really want to give it a go.

Depends what you are looking for. My car came with Cusco suspension which many will say is very good, but it didn't really suit my needs, it was a bit bouncy/harsh and noisy when cold. I'm not planning to "track" the car so was looking at softer set-ups.

I was debating D2's/Tein SS. The D2's get a very good write up on the Honda forums but are less stiffly sprung than the Supra variant, I think the spring rates on the D2's were daft (17KG front? Can't remember the rear). You can however specify your own spring rates - but you'd need to know what you were doing here. The Teins have a more 'sociable' spring rate (think they are 11KG up front).

I was already ordering bits from Nic (the pimp) so added some Tein SS with top mounts, i'm very pleased with them. Got the damping set quite firm (about 15 clicks) but it's fine. Some people may knock the build on the super street but I haven't seen many threads where this is a problem, anyway for the price even if it did bust in 4 - 5 years time you'd just go and buy another set.

That's my 2p ;)

Ide go for the TEIN SS setup, but without the topmounts... Ive had both and although the TEIN topmounts are good they are built with no 'Give' in them. no doubt they would be btter on a track, but for the road the normal SS is a much nicer ride...

IF you get the TEIN, ide look at the strut braces too, They are cheap, look good, work! and are EDFC compatable...

I have the SS (Top mounts) Front and Rear Strut Braces and an ARC front anti roll bar.... I have no complaints :D

I have also been told by TEIN UK, their suspension (Suspension bought from TEIN UK) was redesigned for the UK roads, using more robust parts etc to cope with the nasty roads and weather we have over here...

They look the same though.... :D
