chrisavila100
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/twin_stock_bov/index.html Just wondering if anyone has done this on here? And do you think its a worth while mod? Will it help things under the bonnet much when running 1.2/3 bar? And if yes, does anyone know where you buy the kit that is shown in the link? Cheers for any advice..
Kranz
To be honest I wouldn't bother. Just buy a HKS SQV off ebay, either an original (£80 to £100) or a copy (£30). I got a full kit for £30 and it is so much better then the stock leaky BOV.

Branners
theres a chance a vent to atmosphere bov will cause a UK spec to stall. I know mine did it with the stock bov venting to atmos and Im expecting the SARD one to do the same but you learn to anticipate it. You can get recirc kits for the good aftermarket BOVs anyway so perhaps get one of those as well. I dont know anybody that has run twin stock bovs. JB

I dont know anybody that has run twin stock bovs. JB To be honest i dont want to have to anticipate a stall, or have eratic idleing, I dont really want the bov noise either! so thought this might be a good mod! Ie: you are using oem parts, just one extra to help things out! I would have though this would be a lot cheeper than a aftermarket recirc bov? so perhaps get one of those as well. Are you saying you can run both? ie stock bov with aftermarket recirc bov?

Branners
Are you saying you can run both? ie stock bov with aftermarket recirc bov? you can run both together but not really much point. I meant that you can buy a recirulation kit for some aftermarket BOVs so it runs the excess air back through the MAF. JB

So which recirulating bov is best to go for? And will running the car @1.2/3 bar with stock bov cause any probs? Thanks again for the advice.. Branners
The stock bov takes a huge amount of abuse. I only just changed mine having run 1.3bar on stock turbos and then up to 1.2bar on a single. Only then it was being mapped to 1.35bar did it possibly show some problems so a SARD unit got put in its place. Both were set to vent to atmosphere and I got used to how the car would stall and learnt to catch it before it did. JB
Nic
So which recirulating bov is best to go for? HKS SSQV + recirculation kit
JohnA
Also there is no reason you can't run the stock recirc valve *and* an aftermarket DV. The DV won't sound as loud ofcourse, but it will be adding to the overall air volume that can be handled on extreme conditions.
Kranz
I thought that this type of bov will cause the car to stall, due to it being UK spec, so maf sensor? Didn't read the bit saying UK on your signature - DOH! I'd still get rid of the stock BOV. Mine leaked like a sieve. As Nic says, an SSQV & recirc kit would do the job. And the cheap ebay copies work ok... better than the stock leaky one
