hodge
Just so I can keep an eye on my oil pressure (dont want to put another engine in again). What sort of oil pressure should my car have, this is what its giving me at the moment. On cold start 40 psi tickover 20 psi normal driving 50-60 psi Aint drove it hard yet so cant tell you about the pressure at high speed. Does this sound about right for a j-spec TT. SUPRASUZUKI
Where's your sensor mounted?
hodge
I have a union bolt with the sensor mounted on top of that right next to the oil filter mounting.
SUPRASUZUKI
Oh right. You'll need to compare with someone else using the same position. My sensor's in a sandwich plate so isn't a comparable reading. Sorry.
bignum
Mines in that bolt(lexus bolt mod) your cold start seems a bit low, mines more like 90 psi, tickover and cruise is ok though.
TrickTT
Depends on what type of oil you are using, but on silkolene 10w/50 mine runs cold start 75 - 80psi hot tickover 20 - 25psi normal driving 50 - 60psi WOT 100psi If you use thinner oil, the figures will be a bit lower. My sensor is in a lexus bolt mod and i've had to convert from bar to psi so only approximate figures
