Smellywelshman
Hey there peeps, If I get a full decat how will it, and/or what will I have to do to get her to pass the mot emissions wise? She is N/A at the mo', but is getting a bit of Jezz's magic in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering whats ahead of me... Help...
jamesmark
Simple, put a cat back in every single MOT test OR go to a friendly MOT garage.

Smellywelshman
How easy is it to put one back in??? Could I do it myself? The balls out fingers crossed attitude of just putting her through also appeals though!!
gambie
i went to the garage 2 days before the test and they put it on the machine to check if it would pass if it did not i had time to put 1 of the cats back in
jamesmark
2nd decat is enough to pass I think as long as it's not fooked, it is also the easiest to change (1st cat is a pain, on a TT it is anyway). As long as you can get the car high enough to work under it is a piece of cake however if you bugger it up and not seal it correctly as your exhaust leaks then you could fail with that. (I think)

(I think) Right, local tame exhaust fitter will be visited once a year then! Unless...... straight through without cats Fingers crossed and hope for the best! jamesmark
To be honest, when there is not that much gain on a decat N/A why dont you just take out the 1st cat and leave the 2nd one in. Seems a lot of pointless hassle for so little gain. If it is noise you are after then just buy a Nur spec or an RSR.
Gazboy
I leave a case of lager in the boot and tell them to fit the cats before MOT, the cats happen to be in the boot...

I like your way of thinking my learned friend. There are few mechanics I know that can refuse the dastardly whiles of said 'lager'! Next job....... Find an alcy owner of an mot testing station!!!
