How do I get dash off?!

Guest Jaz

I am trying to remove the dash panel to access the dimmer switch so I can replace it. I intend to by-pass it for now so I have dash lights. The thing is - I have removed the 10mm bolts and managed to prize it half off but it doesn't want to come away. Iv'e given it a bit of a tug but frightened of breaking the plastic. Any ideas how to pull it away further?? Am I missing a bolt somewhere??

Many thanx guys:search:

you should really start at the ash tray and move your way forward.

ash tray, then gear surround, then odo section, then dial surround, then a/c insturment cover and lastly the others (i think)

there's a fair few screws to take out (don't remember any bolts though )

You shouldn't be removing bolts. The first thing to take off is the top panel of the dash (the one that contains the odo and the warning lights) That is held with 5 philips head screws.

Once that's off you will need to undo the screw (if it's still there) that holds the panel you want to remove in place. The panel will then pull off.

EDIT: The link below will show you what you need to do.
