Well done mate and in Hampshire too;)

Probably not the most desireable area of Hampshire, but I know it well and it's not the worst part. My sisters 2 bed semi in Northampton cost just slightly less than the one bed flat I've just bought

Use it up to the actual completion day. Then afterwards, say 'dressing' the house is really bothering you. :D

I'll remember that one, thanks!

congrats mate... im dreading the day i have to get onto the ladder.. just dont see how i can do it in my area..

All this talk of a crash isnt good.. my old man has got a serious amount of money tied up in property atm..

It'll stretch me a bit, but if I can't cope in 12 months time, I could always, dare I say it, sell the Supe :taped:

A rather scary quote from a conveyancer - on a thread titled "completed today".

I noticed that too :D

Good news fella, something I'm not even close to looking at, so I've decided to be happy renting the place I've got (It's not bad though, ask Babe and her sister, they like it :)) - But yeah, one day I hope to be on the ladder, I can't see it being in Cheltenham though, too bl00dy expensive here for a single person...

Well done mate. I won't be on the property market for another 5 years at least. Hey, who gives. My parents are happy with me and I normally stay at the GFs anyway :)

If my parents didn't live 250 miles away, I have no doubt I'd be living at home still with more money to spend on the Supra than currently :D

I obviously meant use it till you go to bed. Or something. :D

 :senile:

:D

I wasn't considering it really. I was going to be renting on my own, and the asking rents were so high I briefly looked into mortgages and realised I could actually have a mortgage and pay less per month than some mates who live alone. Getting the deposit together was a different ball game though!

At least I didn't work out your completion statement for you.

There's a lot of paperwork I have that, if I'm honest, I don't fully understand! It seems ok with me, my solicitor couldn't find anything wrong with it, and my parents thought the same as me. Which bit was the completion statement again? :D

Not trying to be personal, but how's your credit?... One thing putting me off from applying's the fact my credit's 5|-|!t3 (That says shite, but I didn't want to get told off) - Apart from that, I'm 30, and in a pretty well paid job...

The bit that tells you how much you've had to pay and who to. :)

I don't have huge amounts sat on my credit cards, and what I do put on it, I pay off immediately. I only really use it for big things to maintain a credit history. So I usually put car insurance, MOT, road tax on it, then pay it off straight away to avoid the interest.

When I started looking at mortgages, I had a loan I'd taken out to help buy the Supra. I had the money to buy it outright, but I just preferred to have the money in the bank "in case". I then cleared the loan and overnight the amount I could borrow increased quite a bit.

All in all, I'd like to think that my credit rating is quite good. The mortgage provider came back within about 48 hours of me applying with a "yes". That said, I do seem to end the financial month deep in my overdraft!

As for jobs, I think I'm doing pretty well for a 24 year old, but the other grads at my work are always moaning that we're not earning enough. Maybe it's cos I'm from the north :D

Ah, I spend my '20's' partying to the extreme (As they say), and got into trouble with those nasty agencies a fair few times, got the court moaning a couple of times too :( - Sadly it's only recently I've seen the error of my ways and have been paying it off, but by Christmas, I should be debt free :) - Now I guess I have to start again to build up a good record to offset the bad!...

I've already informed my mates that any partying must be of the free nature for the next year or so! It's not the mortgage that'll get me, it's paying all the bills on my own. If anyone wants me, I'll be the one sat in my living room in the dark with the TV switched off :)

Invite everyone round with a bottle. :)

Aye, sadly my partying ££ went to the clubs, and kebab shop owners...

Of course, club spirit and all, if you want to use the net, you're more than welcome to drive down to mine :)

I think the Supe might use a bit too much petrol to make that worthwhile ;):p

But thanks for the offer mate  I could do with a kebab now and I haven't even been drinking tonight!

Congrats mate. Hope it all works out for you.

Where is it? As long as it's not Leigh Park, Paulsgrove, Sommerstown or that grotty estate in Soton I forget the name of, it can't be too bad.

Are you thinking of The Flowers Estate? I don't even drive through there, let alone contemplate living there!

It's between Portswood and the Thomas Lewis Way. I've lived in this area for 6 years now, so I call it home :) It's just out of the student area, so less 2am drunken groups staggering past than I'm used to!
