people who drive in the middle lane

I find them a source of entertainment on long motorway drives - I try to 'lap' them ... overtake them - move over - let them overtake you - move back out again and ovetake them - see how many laps you can do before they get the hint. Immature I know but keeps long drives fun - until the girlfriend whacks me! - Usually nobs in Beemers take the most offence!

honestly though they irritate the sh*t out of me - wish my full beams could be converted to automatic machine gun fire - strayfing them with a few rounds would shift em!:eyebrows:

I rarely drive in the middle lane unless:

a) The motorway is pretty empty and it is dark

b) The motorway is empty and my car is "testing its legs"

c) The motorway is really busy, or there are variable speed restrictions in force.

Other than that I'll be in the "BMW lane", or the "slow lane" undertaking cars in the middle lane. I'm pretty sure many people in the middle lane are oblvious to their surroundings and on autopilot, or they are not very confident drivers.

I can let them off most of the time, because now I'm a slow car driver again I understand how bastard annoying it is when you pull into a gap in the slow lane, only to require pulling out again half a mile up the road, but you can't because whoever is now in the middle lane either hasn't seen your indicator or can't be fucked to move - meaning constantly slowing down and speeding up!!! I'm sure if there are any lorry drivers on here you'll understand how crap it is to have to keep slowing down and then trying to build up momentum again!!!

BUT, the one's who have miles of clear open slow lane ahead and still refuse to budge DO annoy me, I tend to do the hack right in front of them, they never pull over though. Might have to try lapping them, sounds fun.

Drives me nuts. The inconsiderate knob ends force the whole sodding motorway to slow down when you start to get even a small amount of traffic. If they are doing less than 56 mph which they are often are the poor sods in trucks get stuck behind them or have to undertake them. They are a blight on humanity and I for one refuse point blank to move out of the main driving lane through the first overtaking lane into the second one and all the way back again to go round the twats. What really grips my sh*t is when they start making gestures and flashing at you and on the whole try and speed up and cut you off (not a problem in a supra but a major PITA in me old diesel).

As for this whole I cant get back out excuse thats a whole load of old b*ll*x, what you have to do is be road aware. I'm not surprised people get stuck if they drive along til they get to the car in front then start looking to get out. Its a bit bloody late then as you are forced to brake and lose so much speed getting back out is difficult as you are no longer matching or close to the lane speed you are moving to. I'll put it this way I drive trans-continent with a caravan and I have next to no problems getting an estate car with a loaded caravan in and out of traffic.

In the USA they have:

slow lane (inside)

'driving lane' (middle)

'overtaking lane' (outside)

It's normal to weave in and out of traffic, and to undertake. I wish we had the same system here, then all my undertakings (and yes SORRY but I DO undertake middle lane fuckwits) would be legit

What annoys me more is people who hog the fast lane and will just sit there. With my luck I would undertake them and then get done by the police. At least you can go pass middle lane hoggers legaly.

:yeahthat:

I get loads of people on the way to work sat in the outside lane, but maintaining the speed limit, and not giving me the opportunity to exceed it...

It's a lot to do with living in the South I think... I don't remember much of that up North.

I'd like to line them all up against a wall and shoot them :)

I find on the way up the M1 driving styles change dramatically after you pass the M6 turn off. People still sit there in whichever lane they chose when they got on the motorway but they don't get all shirty with you when you pass them on the wrong side, they just continue along their business oblivious to one and all a bit like in the states. So yeah it is a bit worse down south, but thats just driving attitudes on a whole. So much more aggressive down south.

What annoys me when driving (I drive for a living)... is when I pull out into the middle lane then the person i'm trying to overtake speeds up, so you go back in behind them (no choice when your limited) for them to slow down again, it makes me so annoyed! lol :)

aaahhhh!

a trucker?

i also drive for a living and it f*@ks me rite off when people do this ive been stoped twice for undertaking but luckly got away with it as they had been sitting behind me:(

still, i want a device that you can shout at them with!!:eyebrows:

If they're going slow enough for a truck (no offence) to be able to overtake, then they should not be using arterial roads IMO! Numpties.

thats the least of the things id like to say to them sometimes:innocent:

another thing that gets my anger flowing is when youre at the tolls on whatever road and the car infront is disabled driver and they insist on getting the badge out to cross toll roads for free!!!!

AAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

just pay the bl@*dy fee and get a move on!!!!!!!!

sorry rant over!

They don't bother me at all unless they are actually holding people up (ie. if there is a queue in the outside lane).

People who get annoyed at other drivers are scary. I pretty much stay calm while driving - angry driving is dangerous driving. Other drivers are always going to do stupid, crazy things like cutting you up, lane hogging, etc. Life is too short to let it wind you up!

what i hate are ,dare i say it female drivers with their sun glasses on in the middle lane when there is nothing in the inside lane for miles. Day dreaming away, when your behind them in a van and they dont even know your there,so you overtake them ,then move into the inside lane and they still stay in the middle lane WHY.:search::search:

The other annoying aspect to this is the people who then pull out a mile away from the offender to create a huge "conga" of cars in the outside lane, then you have a huge section of the middle lane empty and the whole of the inside lane while those skilled folk in the outside lane drive too close to one another and cause delays with their constant braking.

Trucks playing at 56mph vs 55.9mph racing also annoys me, especially when they pull out in a mad swerve while giving you a millisecond of indicator to react to.

Actually most other drivers / humans annoy me now I think about it.
