JonW
Did a brake fluid change yesterday and the two rear rubber bleed nipple covers fell apart. How important is it to have these in place and is it possible to buy them? Also if anyone is interested I used a piece of tubing bought from Halfords that had a non return valve on it. This meant that I could bleed the system myself but without the need for tyre pressure and a seperate reservoir of brake fluid. It cost around £5. Chris Wilson
Not important really, I wouldn't worry about them. I think you can buy the from Toyota if it bugs you, though.
Kranz
Just slip a bit of hose over all the way down and fill the top with silicone. Better than the original (as it'll stop the threads corroding) and £0.00 if you already have the bits
SamuraiFlash
Hi, can someone please tell me the part number for the bleed nipple covers for UK spec rear calipers. Thank you.

Dnk
They come in the caliper seal kit from Toyota and not sure you can buy them on their own. Try your local motorfactors as these will be the same as a lot of other cars. As said a bit of rubber hose is the way to go and silicon the end If the bleed nipple covers fell apart i'd have a close look at the piston outer seals, unless they have been changed they could also do with being replaced before they split and then you end up with seized pistons Edited April 30, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
SamuraiFlash
Oh bugger, I'll just stick some silicon tubing on then. I need them for my new UK calipers, they didn't come with the bleed nipple covers for some reason
