Mirrored NCB using SKY Incsurance

Just found this from UIG who works for Sky.

When I refer to a mirror bonus policy it mens we allow the equivalent discount from the first policy to the second policy without actually using the no claims bonus. So your policy has 1 yrs ncb but your discount is 65%.

I believe that you acrue NCB on both cars, so if you've currently got say 3 yrs NCB on the Supra, you'd start on the daily drive with 0 NCB, but with 3 yrs mirrored. In 2 yrs time, you'd be up to:

Supra: 5 yrs NCB

Daily Drive: 2 yrs NCB, but with the additional 3 yrs mirrored.

The annoying thing is that you would lose BOTH sets of NCB if you claim on either one of the policies.

Edit: Yeah, what UIG says! :)

Did they give a reason?

No, they just said, they cannot mirror my 5 years NCB from my daily driver (which was Cavalier GLS at that time) and I have to sign out Cavalier insurance to transfer 5 NCB to Supra. Of course my current insurer (Norwich Union) did it without any problems.

They had that with me. The mirrored NCB had to be on the daily drive. It makes sense really - 4 years NCB on a 1.1 Saxo, in their eyes, won't compare with 4 years NCB in a TT Supra.
