thank god for crumple zones.

Good point, and just got me thinking?... Are there any on the Sup?...

I'm not thinking in case I have a bang, I'm thinking if the damage on the front of mine may have been caused by one, or it's previous crash in Japan...

(Off topic I know, sorry)

Given some recent accidents, its a worthy topic and something that will be discussed more in future (i.e. our resident rozzers are putting together some positive driving advice, possible training days, etc)

And, oh yes, they have them alright (just ask Jezz for some pics if you want!). They also have massive side members (the bit you step over to get into the car ;) ) which most new cars don't have, a HUGE bar between the front and rear passenger compartment and side impact bars. They are extremely strong cars, but the laws of physics still apply.

I'd fully support that, with the things that have happened recently, and in the past (Something close to my heart), it does sound like a good thing to do... Especially the training days, as long as those of us in broken cars can turn up in something else... lol

I will :) - Now you've mentioned it, I'm wondering if the damage I've got is down to me or the 'apparent' crash in Japan... I know a chassis leg isn't a crumple zone though, or is it??...

Yes, it is. I have many pics of crash damaged supra's, almost all of which show the front chassis members have folded up under impact, but with the passenger compartment remaining intact. It's not going to be as good as the latest cars on the market, but overall it's not a bad car to have a crash in.

I'll chuck you a PM Mr H, as I'm interested in seeing these (If it's OK)...

Holy crap, that sounds terrible. Thank goodness everyone is ok. I am always thinking about this scenario (tyre blow out at speed) when im driving on the motorway with my little one. This definately makes me want to take more care with Tom in the car.
