Getrag
Anyone had the AA or RAC check out a car before they bought it? Do they have people with specialist knowledge etc? How did you find their reports?
Bobbeh
I think I used one, it was done over the phone. Checks out if its stolen etc, legit. £79 I think.
Getrag
Cheers, is getting the AA to check your car a no-brainer or is it really any use?
Bobbeh
Well, it kinda gives you a little peace of mind whether the car is actually legal and I think they do mileage checks on it too.

OK, so not the usual reason for getting them to look at a motor but they found a few bits knackered or on their way out and did an excellent report. BTW I used the RAC, great feeling going into the Ford dealer and giving them a list of 'freebies' I wanted doing under warranty. The service manager asked who thought these things needed doing, I slapped down the RAC report and said these guys did Booked it in and got the lot done FOC.
