ChrissupraSZ
guys i have some standard toyota rear spats. Ive taken my old plastic bits off. But, where the bottom screw goes in there seems to be some sort of bracket missing. i.e there is about a 2inch space between the bottom of the spat and the screw whole. any ideas guys? am i missing a bracket? merckx
I took off my spat the other day, underneath it was held on by a massive lump of mastic. There isn't a hole in the bottom of my spat or any other obvious way of fixing a bracket. The spat was held on by the 3 screws on the wheelarch, the vertical and horizontal edges were secured using double sided tape.

There should be a metal bracket that it screws into.

merckx
There should be a metal bracket that it screws into. I don't know why mine doesn't have a bracket. I've just been looking at the spat, the screws and the double sided tape are more than sufficient to hold it in place. You don't need a bracket. SatSport
Chris, Did you fit the skirts at the same time? Have you a pic of where it meets the sill....just under the door? I have skirts, spats and front lip ready to fit and also would like to know if you have to take all that black plastic off before you start? thanks Roy. Terminator
The standard bracket is probably used for alighnment purposes more than any form of load carrying. As long as you have a good quality body panel tape you will be fine.

They r all screws and bolts too. really wasnt hard m8. i would get someone to help you though. makes things alot easier when aligning the skirts. any probs gis a pm m8. Hmmmm the tape is designed for use only once. It will not have anywhere near the same adhesive properties second time round. The drag on them at high speed will be huge. I would fit new tape. Try Brown Brothers.
Dave
i just used silkoflex to bond on my rear spats there not coming off
SatSport
Is this the adhesive you mean...........http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/acatalog/ADHESIVES.html Sikaflex
Terminator
If you use that stuff they will not be coming off. If you want something a little more forgiving if you ever want to replace them with someting else, there are so,me equally stick tapes out there, but the bond is easier to break when you want to.
