merckx
Aren't these devices totally pointless? By the time it's detected a laser it will've already got you.

snake
you have more chance getting done by a fixed camera in a part of the country you don't know, than a radar.
Pot
I've often wondered the point that considering the size of a lazer beam, if it moves ever so slightly on a car at distance, and considering how the car bonnet curves, if the lazer moves up ever so slightly, couldn't that give a false reading?... The gun might be calibrated, but surely that's on a tripod and not with someone holding it, and no person on this planet could hold something perfectly steady... Maybe there's a friendly law enforcement person on here who could clear this up?
neil tt
Its surposed to detects all cameras, including hand held, and gives plenty of warning:)

snake
saw a programe about this they put a radar gun on a car and as a lorry went past it gave a reading, problem was the car was parked.apparently the people using the cameras always make sure their calibrated every day. They hold them really steady on one fixed point of the car and dont move up the bonnet and get a wrong reading even if your'e half a mile away. The problem is how can you prove you were not speeding,if there was operator error or the guns not been callibrated. does anyone know???:senile:
Pot
Does anyone know how the guns are calibrated, or how it all works out?... Sat if they're aimed at your badge, but it sticks out 4mm from the bonnet, and the beam flicks from the badge to the bonnet, in a split second, that'd give a higher speed reading than what the car's doing?... Obviously I'm no expert and I don't know how these speedguns work, it's just something I was thinking about...
Guest Geneb
Just get a laser jammer although illegal and you could get done its a damn site cheaper than getting caught at over 100 leptons.
JustGav
I've got one of those Cobra units which I got when I was living in the states...(Covers front laser, X L K/Ka and VG-2 radar) Works damn well as a warning, does go off a bit too often when you are driving around, but that combined with the RoadAngel 6000, I figure I've got as good a chance as any.
