250horses
My J Spec is mostly stock except for a rear second de cat, 3" exhaust and Apexi dump valve. Now I am reading 1.3 bar since I removed the Stock BOV. Is this SAFE ????????????
CJ
I would say that was pushing it on ceramic turbos. IMHO, you need to get closer to 1.1 - 1.2 bar to be on the safeside.
merckx
It is widely known that is okay to run 1.2 bar on a J spec. I have always wondered where this 1.2 bar figure came from. Any ideas?
Andrew
I have read lots of claims that above 1.1 bar on stock turbos efficiency is greatly reduced, due to heat I guess. I personally haven't noticed any difference between 1.1 and 1.4 bar. 1.2 bar seems to be the benchmark here, as lots of us have be running that for years. I have been running 1.1 - 1.2 for 3 years, obviously the life of the turbos is reduced, but I haven't had any problems yet. Get a restrictor plate from Chris, he gets the boost spot on. He did in my case. Just tell him what you want to run.
