jevansio
Got myself one of the HD camcorders Albert was selling. Have to say what a great piece of kit it is, and also a massive thanks to Albert for posting it to me to get it for the weekend (even though we were having a postal strike). The unit itself is small lightweight & dead easy to use. It comes with a docking station, various cables & remote control plus loads of other stuff. The 4gb SD card I bought seperately for £30 holds over 1 hour of HD recording & 4 hours of SD recording. I'm having to record in SD for the mo as my computer isn't powerful enough to play them without stuttering, to play the HD I have to hook the camera direct to the 42" plasma via component and tada smooth 720p fullscreen video. It really is the dogs for £250 delivered. Got some standard def footage of the Supe (including the 2 Step) appearing in Multimedia shortly. Again MASSIVE thanks Albert, really appreciate it Jay

leelbuk
Plays smooth on my laptop - Good compresion quality, my only gripe is that doesn't look like true 720p - looks interpolated/ pixel doubled. (cheating to get higher resolution by upscaling the captured video) But that aside the quality of the videos you have posted are better than my dads £600 sony DV cam - absolute bargain for the price you paid mate Think I may buy one of these for upcoming shows etc. Cheers for posting these up for us! jevansio
my only gripe is that doesn't look like true 720p This is exactly what another guy said who regulary reviews these type of cameras. I think it is upscaling to 720p too. Cheers Lee, drop Albert a line, he may have some left. BTW the cheapo £15 SDHC 4gb cards are more than upto the job (recording speed wise) so no need to waste money on the expensive SanDisk ones etc.

jevansio
It's a Sanyo Xacti HD1A, battery life wasn't fantastic, about an hour (I kept rewatching footage every time I watched it) but spare batteries are pretty cheap so might get a couple of spares. leelbuk
Cheers to both for those links - to be honest for £209 you can't go wrong - The camera came out last september so there may be another model out but I'm sure it will be a tad more pricey - and I'd prefer a cheaper one in case it was damaged or lost etc. Looking forward to seeing more footage from you!!
