jamesmark
Any dealings with these cars? good or bad? I have been looking through the LexusOC which is informative. However just wanting first hand experiences. Whats the best model? Looked at a thread and basiclly they slated the 3.0GT and the 4.0V8 however the thread did not have amny replies so not conclusive. Anyone have some stats for these cars? as that is what was lacking from the site.
Tom
2.5tt is the one to go for imo, there's nowt wrong with the 3.0, it is after all the same lump as the n/a supra, the v8 version I don't know too much about but I think it has the air suspension which could be costly if it goes wrong, think the tt is low 6's to 60 and prob low 7's for the 3.0, almost all are auto''s (great box) however manuals were made from factory but VERY rare. I personally love em, they're great to drive.
Gamer
I had one, I had the 2.5 TT but fitted it with a big single in the end... Nice car for the money, much roomier than the Supra and it has a boot. The 2.5 is the 1JZ-GTE, just as tunable as the 2JZ... http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~shemesh/shoot%20pic%20reduced.JPG http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~shemesh/engine%20pic1.JPG

jamesmark
That is lovely Joe!!!! Looking on Autotrader and they are not going for very much money, are these dogs? or is that just the Soarer market?
Gamer
There are some dogs around, yes. On a whole though they are pretty cheap. I purchased mine for £5k in '04 I think and mine was a good example. Prices have gone down a bit since then though.
Tom
just the soarer market they're quite expensive in japan still, I've seen a few which would be over 10k once landed (97/98 manual 2.5tt's)
fishman
i've heard alot about your soarer joe, and now i've finally saw it, very nice !! !!
jamesmark
Cheers guys. Anything else on them?
Tom
Only thing that springs to mind is the "blinky dash" I've seen it on 7 soarers 'pre 94' where not all the gauges light up correctly, eg, mileage, temp, etc, they can be rubuilt but it's the most common fault on them, I would have imagined the later ones were rectified from factory but I'm not 100%

dangerous brain
best bet is to hunt around on the toyotaimports forum. It may as well be called the soarer forum http://www.toyotaimportsforum.co.uk
hadyn
I think £2.5k is the current going price for a good condition early Soarer 2.5 TT?
RedM
I really like the Soarer so long as it has subtle body mods. Joe's was effing lovely until 'that' day and another nice one was the one up for sale by Phil Morrison (IIRC).
