Class One
I'm off on holiday this evening for 2 weeks, when at about 8.30 this morning I got a call from my wife's brother in law. "Are you busy?" he said "Just a chap i know has hired part of the runway at Enstone Airfield to do a trailer for an upcoming programme on Ch4 and he's invited me along as they need a fast car." (He has a Cerb 4.5) "Also they're running a Chim and a GSXR1000 so it'll be just footage of a few runs up and down the bit of the runway (about 1/2 mile ish) and stuff like that you up for it?" Yep. So left the wife to do the packing and just spent 4 hours hooning around in the car doing standing starts rolling starts and at one point we had one of those gyro copter things with a bullet cam starpped to it do fly bys whilst we were doing standing runs. It was great fun and I learnt, that two up from a standing start a GSXR1000 can't keep up , a Chim has no midrange and after about 50mph is dust and I was an even match for the Cerb. There were about 15 crew working there and none of them had really any idea about what a mildly tweaked supe can do. I should be getting a DVD of todays stuff so I'll get it hosted when it's done. Class One
That sounds ace! What programme is it for? MAKE ME A STUNTMAN! The guy has been learning to skydive, martial arts, drive fast boats, drive fast cars etc etc, he was very keen. This stuff was just for a promo trailer to punt the idea to Ch4 via Mentorn productions, so proper stuff Quality.... don't believe the hype surrounding bikes Cheers, Brian. One up he absolutely killed everything but when he had a pillion he couldn't get the power down to keep the front down, but I didn't get a chance to have a roll on with him but he would have toasted me on a straight. It was funny cos the director asked us if we minded taking the crew for a spin and then asked the crew which cars they wanted a go in. Most of them fancied a spin in mine rather than the TVR's . He blagged getting the gyro to do the fly bys as well, the bloke landed from a flight whilst we were having lunch and you could literally see the idea flash up before his eyes. I suggested he just ask the pilot as the worse he could say was no. The pilot was a top chap though, he got permission from the local Tower and got some good low level fly bys. Bobbeh
Sorry, but what does 'two up from a standing start' mean? A GSXR-1000 should destroy a BPU Supra unless the guy cant ride. Congrats with the other kills tho!
Guest Phillw454
I think two up means two people on the bike, rider and passenger Sounds like a lot of fun, have a good hol.
