get some real wood from a fish shop for the tank (kind that colours the water to a natural brown ish look), and get some real plants to so he can nibble them. also get some floating lillys with the roots that go under the water so he can nibble them to, also a friend mite be nice, and cant hurt to upgrade to a bigger tank, the fish shops do some nice big ones, i got one for 180 ages ago for my fish, lots of room and different places in the tank hell get used to, one corner with under water plants, (short ones) and other parts with places to hide in

I'll see how we get on with the Zoo first, then I'll go down this sort of route, although I absolutely do want one with a drain tap underneath.

Basically as I see it, the tank would be on a stand so that the tap can come right out of the base.

I used to have 6 of these little monsters :D

They started off in a tank about 6ft long and 2ft wide. When they grew bigger we got a greenhouse and made a pond inside it with heaters etc etc. They tend to hibernate in the winter if they get too cold so had to monitor temps carefully.

Females are larger than males and can grow to the size of a dinner plate. Males will grow maybe as big as the span of your hand.

Your little fella should be in a much larger tank if you plan on keeping him, and more water. They love boiled ham and if you really want to treat him go down to the local aquatics store and get a couple of bags of bloodworms... YUMMY! :D

If you want to know anything else, just ask
