carl0s
Oh dear, sorry Paul. What happened after the speeding thing? Did you receive anything through the post within a month of being stopped by the copper?
Animal
Nope, got a producer, showed what documents I had at the police station, then nothing for the last 13 months until the arrest warrent turned up
carl0s
Crikey. I have been thinking that I've been lucky lately, having not heard anything concerning my alleged >120 incident six or so weeks ago.
Tom S
unlcky dude. but If 35 days, buy a season ticket for a month, it will shave a load of the fare price, usually works out at about a weeks worth (ie 20 journeys = £200 so ticket should be £150) sure about that I am And IF I make Mascrat and go past your way I'll pick you up. Pot
13 months? Surely there has to be something you can do about that... (I got off something once, I was probably just lucky), but I'm not going to post up how on a public board!... Have you been onto that pepipoo (*sp) site to get some advice?... Also, I know you were knackered and so on, I would have been not with it too sitting around until that time, but did you say to them you wouldn't be able to pay £750 in 14 days?... They have a list of how much they can make you pay over time depending on your earnings... On my recent court visit, I went from court straight to the fines officer who got his list out and said I had to pay £90 a month of the £275 fine... Might be worth a letter saying how you can't do it and making an offer?...
Matt H
shit mate, so gutted for you. it could happen to anyone hey, and considering every bugger drives at 100 in the fast lane it seems unfair.
Matt H
35 days without putting petrol in the Soop, thats a hellava lot of money for mods. After your ban you can go faster then. Geo before or after the £750 fine?!?!!

carl0s
so is the conviction for speeding, or driving without insurance, or failing to attend court?

Pot
ban & £250 for speeding points (maybe) & £500 quid for no insurance. That's lucky (In the perspective of things) - I've had 2 IN10's and I had a 1 month and 4 month ban for them, with £300 each time... They'd have probably made the bans run concurrently, but it'll look better on the insurance for you... I know that's not much reassurance... Class One
I'm sorry to hear this. Did they not accept the paperwork for the insurance then? Did you get to speak with a solicitor at the court? PM me if you want a chat. I'm off for 2 weeks from tomorrow, but I'm very surprised at the insurance thing especially as you stated you were covered. I reckon a bit of stereotyping was at work from the Bench if you ask me.
SupraAyf
£750 - What bugs the shit out of me is when a burglar gets a £60 fine, or 10-20 hours community service for being caught for the 40th time.
Pixelfill
Sorry to hear this Paul have you thought about using the opportunity to take some leave (holiday) that way you can get away and forget about the ban, and also won't have the commuting costs ? Animal
Couldn't get the paperwork from Sky. Didn't get to speak to the duty solicitor as they didn't actually get the details of the case until gone 5pm when most people had gone home because the police had bailed me but not informed the court. It was just a farce. The patronising beardy tw@ on the bench was just taking the piss and pulling apart any statement I made. He vaguely mentioned at the end that if the alleged documents actually turned up, then I could take it to the crown court and lodge an appeal. To be honest, I just can't be arsed. The way things usually go it'll probably bite me in the arse so I might as well just bend over and accept the fine & points. I'm sorry to hear this. neil tt
You get fined more if they think there's a chance you might pay, and the more honest you are the more you will be f---ed:(
Havard
You get fined more if they think there's a chance you might pay, and the more honest you are the more you will be f---ed:( Very true!! I got done for 58 in a 30 when I was 17 and told them I was on £60 a week. Got fined £68 and 6 points!! My mate got done on exactly the same stretch of road a month before me and got 6 points and £320 fine. He was doing 55 in a 30...... If you lie you will be better off. Unless you get found out and done for perjury then you'll be off to chokey to pick up the soap!! H.
