Stu_Fraser
Ive removed the first cat on my Jspec TT and im hitting a constant 15psi Im now going to remove the second cat and fit a restrictor ring to keep the boost at about 1.2bar. Will the stock fuel map's cope with this amount of boost or will it be worth fitting an uprated fuel pump for long term piece of mind
Jake
1.2 bar will be just about ok *IF* your existing stock fuel pump is working 100% I'd get an uprated Walbro or similar just to be on the safe side. When I went on a dyno I found out that my decatted RZ was running dangerously lean at high boost due to the 10 year old pump being a bit tired. Robert
to be honest it would be better for the soop if you added an uprated guel pump such as a walbro one. this is so you dont hit detonation on full boost.i jsut got my soop fully decatted and i got a walbro fuel pump and emanage. its better to have some confidence your not doing any damage when u put your foot down. Stu_Fraser
Thanks guys, thats what i thought, its better to be on the safe side, so uprated fuel pump and second decat it is then
Faith Adopter
but what about a FCD? wouldn't you also need to add one of these??
Stu_Fraser
Already got one mate
Robert
yea you will need a fuel defence cut or emanage ( emanage is better as yu can alter the ignition timing aswell)
Jake
An e-manage would be overkill and unnecessary expense for Stu's proposed setup.
Robert
yea jake that might be a good point for now but just say in the future incase he wanted to add anymore mods then he would need to upgrade to emanage from fcd anyway
dude
The E.manage isnt an upgrade from an FCD its a massive step that needs a lot of setting up to get right , his first step should be a walboro and a decent regulator to be on the safe side . Faith Adopter
"his first step should be a walboro and a decent regulator" Dude, what does the regulator regulate (and how much £) is this deff. neccesary, only I am thinking of a similar setup and want to make sure everything will run sweet:cool:
