Ian R
I have 2k to spend on a daily driver as I blew the other one up and the Supe is rather thirsty for the daily commute. I am considering 200 sx Fto as long as I return 30 mpg I will be happy any other suggestions. The 200 sx may be worth going for as I could use it for drifting as well

Pabs
I am coming from a biased background here, but I've found the VAG range to be VERY reliable. I'm sure you could pick up a nice mk3 golf or something along those lines for that budget?

jamesmark
Nissan Almera Gti 1998 facelift model. Superb car.
Branners
defo not the SX, my one had worse fuel figures for short tripping than the supra. I recently bought an MR2 automatic and its a great car. Returning about 32mpg or more, handles amazingly and all in all a great little runabout. JB

MrHanky
Just don't get a Saxo diesel. It goes fine and is economical but it is shite to drive. Unfortunately you won't find an AE86 for that price as they have a cult status now and usually fetch at least 4.5k

JB 2nd that, get a really nice N/A (stay away from cheap tubbys) for that price and cracking cars.
