johnnyknox
I have a little 306 that has everything I want except air con. I was wondering if anyone had ever had air con added to their car on here and how much it cost and how they found the end result? Found these and have enquired for a quote: http://www.readerair.co.uk/home.html

jamesmark
See "Top Gear Goes To America" for one or two solutions... A shower in a pug? May catch on When I used to own a Mini Cooper (old style) this was an extra and it cost iirc around £300 this was 10 years ago, I was going to go for until circumstances changed but my mate got it added to his and it was brilliant, bloody freezing he loved it. I guess it will vary from car to car really.
dangerous brain
If its an option available for your year and model then it shouldn't be hugely expensive but if you consider the fact that brand new aircon rads are £150-£300 and aircon pumps in the same area you will get an idea that its not gonna be as cheap as winding down the window

Ibrar Jabbar
Not cost effective IMO, best buying a car with aircon as standard.
dangerous brain
So speaks an expert. Speaking to an expert just how much would retro fitting a non thermal controlled just switched aftermarket airco system utilising the existing aircon rad and pump cost on a range rover? I ask as my system has so far cost me over 1500 quid and the previous owner close to 2 grand and it still doesn't work.
Ibrar Jabbar
What's been done to it so far? is the evaporator & pipework still in the system?
