When I've done this , it just displays the warning triangle thingy for a few moments & retracts the spoiler

The engine off lowering is only for a sort of maintainence mode.

 

They all retract when the ignition is turned on.

 

Except for mine and I don't get any warning triangles!!!

...err , your warning triangle must be intermittant ...it's supposed to come on when you hit 90mph too to tell you to slow down! ...you wanna get that checked mate ;)

I don't believe that does work, as soon as you start the engine it retracts the spoiler automatically.
