Active Spoiler

Is there a way to give me true manual control over my active spoiler?

What i want is for the active speed deployment still to work at 60mph, but pressing the 'down' button at any speed deploys it and the 'off' button stowes it again.

Also has anyone out there painted theirs? and does anyone do a fibreglass extension or something for it?

i want to keep the active spolier but add the sideskirts and a rear arch extensions and make the active spoiler a little deeper to match.

can the mounting structure take the extra forces this might generate on it?

i thought maybe i could take off the headlamp washers and put some machine guns in to deal with any SAXO vtr's i come across?

any ideas?

Thanks

Nice to see my car has made an apperance on your web page Paul.

I would recomend colour coding the front active spoiler like mine it certainly improves the look of the front of the car. I was warned by several people that the lip could get stone chipped once painted, but it has been done nearly a year now and I have had no such problems.

Gorgeous car Kev. I think the red really suits these beasts that's why I went for one that colour too. Please tell me more about the indicators, or kindly point me towards the place where you've discussed it all before, cheers. What have you done with the rear indicators and do you have any more pics of the car?

Oh so many questions.

Cheers:p

Yes but you need to drive over 60mph for the spoiler to come down first Kev. :D

I have my active spoiler down permanently as I like the look of it down. It definately looks a lot more aggressive. All you have to do is hit the down button when you have the ignition light on and then pull the active spoiler fuse out at the drivers side fuse box which is located behind the lower plastic dash {behind engine hood latch}.

and then pull the active spoiler fuse out at the drivers side fuse box

Good idea.

You could put a switch with an in-line fuse on this and have it tucked under the dash for those occassions when you need to be able to retract it quickly, stoney/bumpy road etc.

Question: Does the warning light flash to indicate a fault in the spoiler when you do this?

Regards

Pete

Oh! I forgot to mention about this! Yes the warning light it the REV meter is ON now due to the fuse not being pulled. I just tried everything to get rid of this damn red light which was quite irratating. So I finally removed the dash and pulled the bulb out. Ta dA! no more Red light- ;)

Lets hope you don't get any other engine or system problems.

I wondered why the Active front spoiler is always so clean when I come to wash the car, I guess I never go over "30" to busy looking at the reflection of my wheels in shop windows as I drive by.

I have loads more pictures of my car to post up, if some one could just remind me how!:stupid:

Cheers

Ha ha, he bought the indicators from me, £90 for the fronts and £30 for the sides, both fit straight in and are Genuine Toyota parts. Plus delivery and VAT of course. I can fit them if need be, £30 labour charge, it really updates the front of the car.

cheers Paul, looks like I'll be sending you an order after next pay day. But what about the backs? Any ideas on a clear lense but orange bulb????

That's the only trouble isn't it, I don't liek the idea of having a warning light on all the time, especially when that one covers several areas. I too would like to have the front spoiler down all the time but there are definetely occasions when you'd need to raise the thing, car park ramps and the like.

Come on you techie guys .......... put that old grey matter to work to help out us thickies'!!!
