DaveK
I would like to change my bathroom. I have two options : 1) Rip out the existing suite and replace with another one, and replace all the tiling. 2) Carry out 1) and also remove the airing cupboard, replace the boiler with a combi boiler (in the loft), and put a shower cubicle where the airing cupboard is. Obviously 2) will be a lot more expensive than 1). Is there anybody on the board able to do this - or can recommend somebody? Preferably at non-Thames valley prices. I'm getting some quotes at the moment but may decide it's all too expensive and stick with the crap green suite I've got.

osso
personally i'd completely forget about idea no 2.. way too much hassle. Just get a decent bath with a shower screen, and plumb your own shower into the wall, and connected to a shower pump.
DaveK
personally i'd completely forget about idea no 2.. way too much hassle. Just get a decent bath with a shower screen, and plumb your own shower into the wall, and connected to a shower pump. I already have / had a power shower. But I would much prefer a shower cubicle. It will depend on cost - if having the bathroom installed is reasonable, and having the airing cupboard / shower cubicle done adds a lot, then I'll forget about it. On the other hand - if the bathroom costs shit loads anyway, and the cubicle adds a bit more then I might just get it all done.
osso
Ultimately, I guess it really depends how long you're planning to stay in your current property. Personally I dont think having a combi boiler in the loft is not advisable for practical reasons. rewiring electrics along with the plumbing and rerouting the gas will be a PITA, not to mention expensive. Good luck
