SUPRASUZUKI
I refitted the viscous fan yesterday, just to compare temps between using that and the electric one I've been using for a few months. Very similar - 90deg during cruising at the legal limit on the road:innocent: 100deg whilst at Snetterton. Until, that is....... The water pump shaft sheared, sending the viscous fan into the rad. So at least a new rad and water pump. I guess the rad's fairly easy to replace, but what's the deal with the water pump? Is replacement a major operation? Any info (including costs) appreciated. Joeatphr
Be sure when you upgrade the tensioner get an aftermarket Bracket not the OEM. If you are wondering why then look at MVP's and SP's when they broke in the 25k Motor builds that they had done. Good little piece of insurance I would say! Cheers, Joe

I guess you're talking about the aux' belt tensioner? The cam belt was changed by a Toyota main dealer about 8,000 miles ago, so should be ok to refit. Got the rad off, it's well goosed, along with the fan cowl. The fan's in surprisingly good condition:blink:
