hi anyone any good with the dreaded peugeot 406 2.0 petrol 16v auto 1998, i am getting engine management light coming on intermittently, stays on for around 10 secs engine misses and sometimes rev counter and speedo all dip to zero, coughs and splutters and also will not change up to next gear so revving high, then it clears and is ok, seems to happen at any time, wet dry, humid etc going up to a junction or sslowing to stop can cut out all together and out of the blue when pulling out at a junction is finr goes to rev to pul away and instantly dies to a crawl then will pick up and pull away, eng management light comes on as described above, this has been a prob for 2 years, getting worse now, I have replaced throttle body inc stepper motor and 2 other sensors attached to it, went great for 3 weeks and then same again, had diagnostics done and laptop was on for 2 hours and nothing car was perfect, then he left and bingo car threw a wobbler, no fault codes but he did say map sensor readings were a bit off, does anyone know how to test map sensor? is it an ohms reading or voltage output or what

anyone any clue or had this yourself, i use the pug for dogs 3 german sheps, so need it fixed

any ideas eppreciated ,except the obvious (put a match to it)

john
