3LL
i dont know about you guys, but if im doin any "bumping" i prefer it to be with a female.. PS, If these offer a reasonably performance increase and not a knock on effect of having to replace several other components to compensate for an aftermarket cam, im interested too

couv3z
i had a brief look at this the main word being brief lol, the problem is the exhuast cam as the N/a exhuast cam has a gear whihc runs the dis i did contact a few cam firms about it to see if they could modfiy a stock exhuast one to match a HKS intake if i brought one. never got round to buying a hks or a spare exhuast one. id gladly forward the e-mails on if anyone want to pick this up Edited November 10, 2008 by couv3z spelling grammer, (see edit history)
Chris Wilson
You can get stock cams either re ground with a smaller base circle, in which case you'd need custom cam followers with a longer stem underneath to keep shim sizes sane, or (spit) you can get them metal sprayed / "welded" and re ground on a stock base circle. If you add any worthwhile lift or duration you'll need a mappable ecu and they'll low end performance and hurt economy. It'll get VERY expensive, very fast, and the car will be lousy on normal roads. A small block Chevy transplant or selling it and buying a TT will be much cheaper than pulling any serious amount more power from an N/A. w41k3r
just to keep this thread going as anyone tried these TTC performance cams http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=516177 you get to keep the dizzy gear
Al Massey
But what else would be needed to run these? And what would the benifits be of a slightly longer duration?

MC500
Very intested esp as i am modifying a spare head and want to make the most of the extra flow. any one in uk stock these?
pedrosixfour
As far as I can see these are your own cams which you send away to be re-profiled
Chris Wilson
If you want a decent cam (ie, not reground on a smaller base circle on a stock cam, or welded up and re ground) Kent Cams will do billets to anything you want. They are doing me a pair of billet cams for the 4A-GE engine I'm building, I can even spec where I want a cam position trigger tooth, which the stock cams don't even have, and I am having the exhaust cam cross drilled for added lubrication and cooling. They are very helpful.

bondango
My Freind runs SIP who also specialise is custom cams and custom cranks. like chris, I have a set of customs on one of our 7M engines though they are a Reduced circle/regrind and require custom shims. He does customs from billet 5160 steel cores which are 3 times the price. He can also build Stroker kits, heres one of his custom cranks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/rods025.jpg I have been chatting with one of our 2jzge customers about cams this week. However we have also been chatting about getting the most from the engine to make the use of a higher lift/longer duration cam. i.e with larger valves, reworked chambers and ports, uprated valvetrain components, adjustable cam gears (no point in installing cams unless thy can be timed), fuel and air delivery from a custom injector and ITB setup and ditching the stock ECU for something to get power from the setup and raised rev limit....it all gets quite costly
Chris Wilson
I am keeping the link to that photo for the next time the wife asks, "Who the hell else would put up with engine bits in the kitchen?"
