Geo
There's obviously a lot more to this than I first thought! The hardest part for me was my Diet. When i was doing my show, i was out running on a Sat night, when my friends were out getting hammered. But was so glad when i did it, as i looked pretty good up there. And my mates are still FAT! Kranz
There's obviously a lot more to this than I first thought! If you are or get serious about it, then it can become a major part of your life.... and you'll enjoy it. But, if you just want to get a bit fitter and a bit bigger then it can be easily done with some commitment; but I'll warn you now, when the Mrs likes the effects and everyone at work comments on how good you look it can be addictive! Geo
Looking good Geo.... but a bit Tango LOL If you're a late starter than I'm a geriatric! Cheers dude, i used that dream tan stuff for the show. nightmare to get on, had to go into work like that for 3 days until the crap came off. Boss ripped the piss out me, until i said well lets see your 6-pack in front of all the girls. He went quiet and red after that. hehe Geo

Inferno
Why do they always put on that hideous fake tan stuff at those bodybuilding shows? It looks absolutely ridiculous... p.s. I'm guessing the photo on the right is you before you started bodybuilding?

I'm guessing the photo on the right is you before you started bodybuilding? We use fake tan dude to highlight all the Muscles. If we didnt use the stuff then you wudnt get the same effect. The other pic of me show's me bodybuilding before i started to diet. You need to pack on some size before coming down to contest size. P.s You live in Oz, so you have good sun, and i bet you look alot browner than me. Got to remember im Scottish so my Natural colour is White/Blue. toyotasuprauk
Really good and interesting post Geo. I’m working really hard in the gym four times a week and training with 2 other guys for motivation and spotting etc. I just don’t seem to be able to get the diet right, when I start eating loads I get a bit fat which covers the muscle definition, so I cut back a bit and the progress of the muscle growth slows right down! How did you manage to loss so much weight whilst retaining the muscle? What I would say to Pete is depending on the gym you go too most people there will be in exactly the same situation, have the same goals and are really nice people. Don’t worry about the weight you are lifting at all, no one cares. What is silly is when you see someone lifting way too much weight and then their technique is all over the place. Routine keeps me going its like getting up for work in the morning, I know I’m going to get picked up for the gym at 7.00 so I need to be ready. Routine keeps me going its like getting up for work in the morning, I know I’m going to get picked up for the gym at 7.00 so I need to be ready. Right i decided to go for a show in May 19th, this gave me plenty of time to bring my weight down from 16st, as you can see from the pic i was a bit heavy. I started my Diet at the beginning of Feb this year, that gave me 15wks to get my weight down to what i wanted. The first thing i did was to start doing Cardio after each workout session, this ment 50mins weights, and then 40mins of Cross trainer(I use this as its easy on the Knee's and burns more calories than the treadmill or bike). You have to get your body to burn the Fat, rather than the muscle, i think its something like 120-140bpm or there abouts, you should be able to talk while doing cardio. Thats the easy bit done, next is the hard bit. And trust me you need good will power. My Fat burning Diet. Rule 1. Cut out all Booze and Fat, this means no bad stuff, pizza, fast food, biscuits, really you know whats bad to eat so dont eat it. Start eating more fruit, Veg etc. Thats it for the Rules. SIMPLE EH! My diet Plan for my show. Meal 1: 10 egg whites 1 packet of Quaker oats(some honey over the top) 1 Banana All my Vitamine's. Meal 2: 3 scoops of protein, 5g Glutamine(in water) 2 Packets of Quaker oats(honey over top again) 6 rice cakes with Honey on top 2 Fat free Yougurts Meal 3: 2 x Smoked Haddock 2 cups of rice(boiled) or Small Baked Tattie Veggies(Corn, green beans, Carrots(upto you) Meal 4: 3 scoops CNP Choc protein, (or protein of your choice) 5g Glutamine 2 Fat free Yogurts 1 Tablespoon of honey(I used the Queezey bottle) Meal 5: This is your big meal for the day. 3 x Large peices of fish(I Used smoked Haddock) 1 X Small baked Tattie Veggies, whatever you want pile them on. 10g of Glutamine Meal 6: 3 scoops of protein(mix with ice, blended) As you can see i have my protein Intake really high to keep the Muscle, and my Carb intake Low. This is just enough to get me through the day, so my body then uses Fat stores as energy, and thus burning all the fat off. This Plan works for me, everyone will be different, so you will prob have to change it depending on your size etc. It does take time, so dont rush it. And you will see big,big results. Hope this helps. Geo
Pete
Ok, I went again last night and as it was a special weekend to let friends in free I took my parents. It was much better having someone to chat with and they enjoyed it too. I got a bit carried away and over did it though, you can see the result below... Pete
Went to see a mate I've not seen in a few weeks this morning. Totally unprompted he says "Have you been working out? You look a little broader". There's a little more motivation just appeared. I'm gonna go make a few more house calls to people I've not seen in a while I reckon.
