Had to go to Portsmouth this morning, 100mile round trip. Stepped out of my workshop and thought shall I take the supe or the van? In the end took the van for economy reasons(thimble full of deisel instead of half a tank of ultimate).

So glad I did! There are police cars everywhere. Saw at least 4 marked cars and I think 2 plain clothes cars, 1 black Octavia and I think a silver/grey Vectra.

B@$t@rds!!

Why?

I would imagine that they were conducting an ANPR operation, not pulling over the poor hard done by innocent motorist.

How do you spot unmarked cars, unless they have pulled someone over?

Well..... The Octavia had pulled someone over and the flashing blue lights were a bit of a give away too.:D

The other one was stopped one the hard shoulder with a marked car but it didn't look like it had been pulled. Like i said not sure about the second one.

The only person I have ever heard who said 100% that they never, ever EVER break the speed limit was on a radio phone in. She was a vicar.

There was a lad in my school who would religiously stick to the speed limit. He didn't seem like the sort, but even when following other people he'd sit with the speed needle just below the current limit.

I've found the Supra easily creeps up in speed when not using cruise control. I was plodding along at 70 once on an empty wet motorway. When I looked at the speedo a mile or three later it was a bit higher than that and I hadn't noticed!

The police always seem to have a high prescence on the M27. Or maybe I just notice them more now with the Supra?!

Makes oi larf. We the public pay them the police force to keep our roads safe using the laws we the public utilising the democratic process of government we the public voted into place. Then we the public call them the police a bunch of @^&&****s for just doing what we asked them to do lol. If you are going to speed (and I am not saying I don't) you have to accept that you are breaking the law and the consequences of doing so. If you don't want to get caught then don't speed.

Thankyou for the warnings on how many traps are about in a certain area, that kind of info will be helpful to many but I for one am getting a bit tired of the whole calling the police names thing. On a whole like in any job you'll get the odd person or so thats a bit of a chod thats just life. And yes there is always quite a high visibility of marked cars on the M27 as its a road with a very high accident rate due to heavy traffic and a lot of very blind junctions on it spaced closed together with 2 major cities an their suburbs feeding onto it. I believe you'll find the M1 in Leicestershire the same as well. Also on the M27 they had a spanking new audi RS4 so watch out for that one.
