Pig
Anyone know how to get it working with a USB to serial connection? I can get it to connect.
tDR
First find out what COM port the usb-> serial convertor is using (device manager will tell you this), then in the AEM software there will be some kind of setup / connection menu (I've not used AEM software so don't know where exactly) where you can choose the COM port to use when communicating with the ECU, usually a drop down box. Hope this helps! Cheers, Brian.
MaveriK
USB to serial converter? Is so it will be mapped to com5 or something simular rather than com1 or 2. It will be listed in device manager exactly what it is mapped to.
Pig
Do i need to install the USB - it picks it up but i cant find an AEMUSB.DLL file anywhere. Not options for ports as the computer has no serial connection
MaveriK
The USB to Serial device should have come with a CD, if not you have the make and model so get the drivers off the net. Once thats installed correctly the device will be listed under ports in device manager. Then tackle the connection to the AEM

tDR
Prolific USB is one of the more common ones - try this driver attached.USB_serial_WinXP.zip
tDR
Actually if the driver name is AEMUSB.dll it sounds like it's AEM supplied so check their website for a driver.

Also looked on the website but couldnt seem to find anything. App. the installer need to match the USB to serial perfectly for it to work. Is this viable? I had no problem with this and couldnt get an immediate connection to the ecu
