Whitelightning
Is there any comparision data between brake systems on a Supra. From Jap spec to UK spec to Brembo - I'd like to know just how good different types are. I went from Jap spec to brembo on Whitelightning and she . . . a. never smoked again at track days, b. never faded after constant use, c. stopped on a penny - well close - she felt safer and I had more control. You are only as fast as your brakes when racing. Comments ?
Nick
I can't offer any data, but I can say that when I went from Jap Spec to Brembos all round I was smiling so much I thought my face was going to split.
albundy68
do a search, theres zillions of threads on the above. One has a link to a really good article on exactly what effects your brake'in. Written by someone who tested/designed brakes for F1 or something. The conclusion reached by most were that brembos arent gonna stop you any more quickly than UKs in anything other than a repeated lap track situation. (Where the brembos will take alot longer to heat up and fade).

toyo rob
did u boys go brembo all over, front and back, or leave the back as they were??? if i opt for the same, am i emptying the cookie jar or just diving into a nice big credit card debt?? cheers Rob S
Whitelightning
I just did front. Most people ensure that the back is UK spec and thats it.

Nick
I did both, the back is designed to work specifically with the 14" front kit.
Whitelightning
Ah - that what they want you to think lol ! Imagine - a company trying to sell the back to you ASWELL ?! (OMG- shock horror) 80% braking is on front, save money buy front only
Nick
I'm not disputing there's cheaper options but uprating only the front brakes has been discussed at length on here previously. If I didn't think uprating the rears was necessary, I wouldn't have bought them
