His posts in technical are sorely missed... FSE regulators that stop det on BPU cars ;)

Oi - I never said that (having checked with the search button :tongue:) ...and I remember the days when some of us weren't so 'knowledgable' themselves ;)

I still think Jake was harsh with him though :p (still meant tongue in cheek m8)

You big bully :)

Hehehe, funny you should say that..

The other friday, my mates ben and phil were round and we had a frank discussion on salaries and stuff...

Bit of background

Phil = Tyre Fitter (How_supra has met him when she had new tyres)

Ben = Carpenter

Myself = IT

We were just commenting about how my current job pays so well, but I then explained that IT life span isn't as good as people think. Having been caught in the Dotcom rush (was in IT prior to that, so I'm not what I would class as a dotcom bunny), and at the moment yes I'm on the wave so it helps.

However I've been made redundant in the past and the super income drops to 0, whereas someone like Ben who is a carpenter/handyman will pretty much ALWAYS have an income (while it may be lower) since people always need a place to live and that needs to be maintained. During that period when the income was 0, we as a family took a hard hit.

Tell me about it. :(

I've been in IT since '88 and really shot myself in the foot when I quit last year. :(

Threads do get a little out of hand sometime's don't they :D.

I do agree though, txt speak should be left to mobile phone's, there isn't a cost per thread on here.

Has an arguement in a thread ever been carried on at a meet ?, I know people have been threatened, but has it ever become heated face to face, or any punches thrown ?.

Although I suspect there's a hell of a lot of BPU cars out there detting that the vast majority are unaware of, if my recent mapping activities are anything to go by.

Cheers,

Brian.

:rlol: the famous forklift truck driver one! Well found Jake ;) I'd fired my reply and stopped reading, and then people started calling me a forklift truck driver for comedy purposes and I was all "eh? what are you talking about?" until I got shown the thread.

I think I got annoyed :blink: :blush: but I stand by everything I said even to this day - people who think other people shouldn't comment on crap posts, by their own rules, can't comment on your replies otherwise they immediately become a hypocrite. Fantastic :D

Aye that's true - was it around the transition point perchance?

Lui's car recently went bang because of the FSE causing overfuel

After for me, although my power delivery characteristics are a wee bit altered with the hi stall! Noteable det in the 5k rpm - 6k rpm bracket at full boost for me. (restrictor ring limited to 1.25 bar tops)

The transition point goes into the 10:1 AFR's and no det to be heard - I deliberately avoided leaning the transition fuelling as I recall discussions on here from a while back on it being necessary, probably because of det / egt's - may have been yourself that posted something along those lines?

Anyways, I see closed loop for most of turbo #1 up to say 7psi and less than 45% throttle opening and then the TC means I'm pretty much from there into turbo #2 full boost open loop where I've mapped for 12:1 AFR steady give or take .2

I was going to stick to 11.7:1 but then I got greedy :D Still, I don't think I'm on the razor edge of blowing it to pieces at this AFR.

Maybe we should seperate this stuff out into a tech thread Ian?

Cheers,

Brian.
