jazz1
damn i was driving to work in my micra when all of a sudden i see ahead a traffic cop parked up so i slowed right down, by the time i reached him he pulled me over. He asked me what the speed limit is and i said "30" he showed me the speed gun and it said 46. Staright away i apologised and he asked where i work so i told him the information he requested and told him im sorry as i should of known better. He let me off with a warning, just goes to show some guys are wicked after all:)

neil tt
I had a scare at the week end, driving down a dual carriageway a little to fast(just to clear the cobwebs) for a couple of miles, slowed down for a roundabout, and heard a helicopter, slowed right down to 30mph was a little behind and to the right. Made me very nervious all the way home, was expecting a police car to pull at any time:). Make me think twice next time, not only do you have to make sure the roads are clear, you now have to look in the air:d

merckx
If I had been the policeman you would've been done to the fullest extent of the law. Speeding in a 30 zone is bad. What's the advert on the TV, 80% of children knocked over at 40mph would die, 80% of children knocked over at 30mph would survive? God knows what it is at 46mph! Make me think twice next time, not only do you have to make sure the roads are clear, you now have to look in the air:d It gets worse doesn’t it, you have to look in front of you for safety (read tax) cameras, behind you for traffic cops, up in the air for police helicopters - it’s all very dangerous when you’re trying to break the sound barrier on motorway... Re 46 in a 30... How bad it is (in my view) depends on the road in question. Not all 30 MPH roads are in towns running past schools etc. Let him without (speeding) sin - cast the first stone… G

I know that a 100% of kids survive if they stay on the fooking pavement. Drivers must be careful but also kids need to be educated at a very young age!! I have had the pleasure of drilling in the dangers to my 2 kids that cars take no prisoners. I have also knocked a boy down doing 20mph. It's not all the drivers fault!! H. If that girl in the advert wasn't slithering all over the road like a snake then she'd never have got hit in the first place.
jazz1
well i know now to be carefull, two other people got stopped after me hell knows if they got away, but this 30mph road has no houses or residents just car parks around the area no pedestrian walk either
merckx
It's not all the drivers fault!! H. It wouldn't matter if it was the kids fault for being on the road, at 30mph you stand a much better chance of missing them or anything else for that matter. You've got to realise that all sorts of people and animals cross 30 mph roads which is why you shouldn't speed on them ,this is why I drive on them cautiously within the limit. juanchan
Did I read this thread right? You were doing in excess of 150% of the speed limit in a built-up area, without insurance, and all you can say is "some guys are wicked"?!? I'm sorry, there's no excuse for speeding in a 30 zone mate. As merckx said, you'd've had more than a slapped wrist if it was me stopping you. (Sorry - uninsured drivers really get to me!) I still say that there's a big difference between someone saying "I had a blast on the way home down the duelly at 3am" and speeding in a 30 zone sorry!
