Vaughany
I am lookinG to purchase an Emanage, associated Harnesses and the Profec E01 for my J-Spec TT. Looking on the net, america seems very cheap for these parts I would be grateful if someone could answer the following queries. 1) Can anyone recommend an oversee dealer for these parts 2) I know these parts are available for the TT whether it is UK, J-Spec or US etc but are they all the same part number, i.e same spec unit for all models. 3) is it definitely cheaper to import these across or do you get stung on shipping,VAT etc. I think thats it but if I have missed anything that you think I should consider before purchasing these parts from oversees please let me know. many thanks

Vaughany
Thanks Leett, I will contact MVP and see what price they can do for me. Cheers
Timwildman
I imported a ecu harness, and i paid proper tax before the traders get all upset. It cost approx £80 less than a trader is selling the same item on here. I guess thats just the good exchange. There was absolutly no hastle at all, just the same as buying from a uk seller, and it only took 5 days (including a weekend) to get here. I say make the most of the exchange while you can. SimonB
For Emanage stuff you want Mohd, at http://www.mohdparts.com. He pretty much specialises in it, and you'll find loads of info on his site, including the latest software etc. He'll be slightly cheaper than MVP too. I would go to MVP for anything else though for sure. As for point 3, I don't want to go into it too much, but the US guys like Dusty and Mohd are well aware of the duty/VAT issue. Suffice it to say I would expect it to be cheaper than buying from a dealer here (and probably would be even if you paid the full whack of VAT and duty). Vaughany
I have contacted mohdparts.com and mvpmotorsport.com. There prices are very competitive but mohdparts.com are about 90 dollars cheaper. Before I purchase being a little bit paranoid, has anyone used mohdparts before and if so are they genuine or would I be best to pay the extra 90 dollars and go with mvp. I would also be grateful if someone could explain the following to me. When the goods get shipped over do I get stung by the customs here and have to pay on top of the price they are quoting. I have never imported before so not exactly sure how this works. I am extremely happy with the prices I have been quoted but I will obviously be less happy if customs turn up and hit me with an additional bill of a £150 - £200. Thanks
Jake
Vaughany, Several members have bought from Mohd without any problems. You should be charged import duty and VAT on the value of the goods. You can get around this by using 'VAT friendly' companies that will mis-describe the goods on the packaging. I believe Dusty from MVP is quite friendly This can backfire though if the goods go missing or get damaged in transit. My GReddy e-manage and e-01 boost controller was sent directly from Toyko. The package said "Used Car Parts" on it and I was charged no VAT or duty at all.

Yep, Mohd is a good guy, bought mine from him. He's pretty much the authority on the Emanage. You should check out the Emanage Yahoo groups (e-manage is the Supra specific one, emanage is the general one). A search should find a link to them.
