Havard
Just out of curiosity!! I was on my laptop tonight, when my mate came round and started using it to go on some dating website type thing!! Seeing my wife's laptop in the corner, I thought I'd go back on the forum through her machine!! Oh no, after putting in my password etc it wouldn't let me in as a member!! My laptop was totally logged out so why could I not get on?? Is it something to do with the IP address being the same?? H.
Jake
Nope, nothing to with that. Sounds like pebkac again. (IANAM)

Havard
Sorry Mods!! I forgot about the password change issue that happened when the forum was hijacked or hacked, whatever you call it. My browser logs on automatically and I have therefore not entered my new password on another machine since!! Sorry!! H.

Havard
PEBKAC STRIKES AGAIN!!!!1 I was hoping you were wrong as I repeatedly bashed in the same password 5 times and then got locked out for 15 minutes!! D'oh!! Jake's right again...... What does IANAM mean then? H.
Jake
IANAx disclaimers are more common on Usenet really. eg you might see IANAL (Im not a lawyer) at the end of a reply in a legal newsgroup where somebody has asked a question on a point of law. (You addressed the thread to Mods but I replied)

Jake
Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair. It's not a chat thing, although I suppose it's fairly geeky. I don't do all that MSN, Messenger type bollocks. It's for kids isn't it.
juanchan
Cool! I feel ok with asking these sorts of questions now. I've had to figure a lot of these out now, like AFAIK, HTH, ROTFLMFAO (ok, that wasn't such a challenge, but it made me think for a few seconds!) The only one I use on MSN (when I use MSN that is...) is "lol". I think I only use the smilies on here because the novelty factor of them still hasn't worn off for me yet
Jake
I only use Smileys that I can remember how type from the keyboard. I can't be arsed to go into the popup thing and wait for them all to load.
