Toytown
As much as i like animals & especially my own, my 2 moggies have taken a fancy to the bonnet of my supe as a sunbathing platform:( Nice muddy pawprints all over it whenever it has come home warm Any ideas how to deter them (humanely) ?? Marco
I have the same prob when I visit my mum. Even more annoying is when the cats make scratches with their nails when they slide of the car! But I don't what to do about it...
nuttynutz
probably not helpful but i got the same problem with my niehgbours cat. done this about 4 -5 times now. i park my car in a bay where behind is a small 1-2foot high wall. and it only happens when i park head in first. now i always reverse park, and has not happened since. brainstorm... how about polishing the bonnet so much that it gets really slipperly, its a win win situation, car looks nice and shiny and cat keeps sliding off now to find the polish that can do that.... lovatt
bob thats just wrong !! it would leave water marks on the bonnet
Bobbeh
I was gonna suggest lemon juice.. cats hate the smell, so maybe spray it around your car, not on the paint (being acidic etc) Water is harmless, it'll scare them but it'll be ok I have a cat
tbourner
The one next door sits on my spoiler sometimes!!! And I quite often find paw prints down my windscreen which is annoying.
michael
All DIY stores sell stuff to try and keep them away - "Scent Off" is one brand - can't say if it works or not but I get the same issue here (not with my two cats though!) so I might have to try some out. Faye
I used to have a big hairy orange cat that thought the spoiler was its personal sleeping area, the amount of wet ginger fur I used to find all over my supe was disgusting I'm all for the water pistol approach :flame Dev

Alex
How about a car cover?...if all else fails.
Toytown
Suppose a car cover is an option Alex, but especially weekends we are in & out countless times & it wouldn't be practical. I think the way is to teach the little b*****ds a lesson, like some cat repellant for a week or
Steve W2
How about a decat? Sorry! I'd try the Halfrauds stuff first, then a spud gun, it shouldn't bruise them for long:D
Dragonball
Fecking Foxes around my area - common as bloody cats and jump all over the car!
attilauk
shotgun? seriously orange peel does work, when i was at uni one of my housemates had a problem with the cats in our area using the concrete platform outside his bedroom window as a toilet so he dumped an orange peel out there once a week and they never came back! ChrisB
my bonnet seems too slippy for the cats to sit on, so they scratch all the way down as they are trying to get on, i found something that gets them off th car reallllly quickly though, remote start

Purple Reign
http://www.critter-repellent.com/cats/cats-on-my-car.php This if from the States but it may help ! I would imagine that Petsmart or simmilar would sell something that would work. either spray it in the area if you park in the same place all the time I would opt for wiring up the car to the mains though Meeeeeouuuucccchhhhh
Whitelightning
Wire up the car to 240v mains. Deter thieves and cats alike. Cats can sense electro-magnetic fields so they will just stay clear. But whacking them over the head with 3" piping does sound funny
