SUPRASUZUKI
Some times the engine refuses to start when hot (normal operating temp). It spins over fine, tries to fire but just won't fire up. Some times it's fine! I've just changed the plugs, but the problem had materialised before the change. The only other thing I've changed recently is fitting an FCD, but it started fine for a while after the FCD was fitted, so I don't think this is a factor. It starts fine when cold. Anyone got any ideas on what might be at fault? Any help much appreciated. Ta.
Ric
remove the fcd and try again, just to be sure eh
SUPRASUZUKI
Worth a try I guess.
SUPRASUZUKI
Bypassed the FCD (cut and spliced the wires) and it seems a lot better. I guess the boost sensor signal is used during engie start-up and the FCD's messing the signal up. Guessing..... Looks like I've got a choice of FCD or confidence in starting:search: Anyone got any other ideas??

SUPRASUZUKI
I'll try and get it checked first I think.
SUPRASUZUKI
Sussed it I think. I'd taken the live feed from a point that goes 'dead' whilst the engine's cranking. I've now conneted to a switched feed that stays live even when cranking. Thanks for your help Ric.
jon5698
Sorry to bring back on old thread, but this has just cured the problem i was having with my FCD. I thought my Greddy FCD was broken so i bought a Turbosmart one from whiffin and i was having exactly the same problem, turns out the switched live i used from the stereo drops to 0v when the engine cranks. I have now changed this to the one on the ecu, and althought the voltage drops to about 9.6v it now starts as it should.
paulj1
I had this with mine just ended up needing a new battery with greater turning amps fitted it a year ago never had any trouble since
jon5698
It is a fairly new 300amp battery so there was plenty of power to start it, when i put my meter to ground and the live wire for the FCD as soon as i tried to start it the volts dropped to 0.
