dazla
Last night was bloody mad!! I went to the back door to let the dog out for a piddle and noticed she was sniffing at something on the decking. I turn on the garden lights to find a 3 foot snake slivering about. I absolutly shit my self:blink: My 1st thought was that my dog was a gona, I ran out and pulled her away. The snake then darted off under the decking. That meant i had to take all the decking up because theres no way i was sun bathing with that underneath me. Not to mention I felt sorry for the poor thing. Bearing in mind this at 11.30pm:rolleyes: I got all the torches out and the hunt was on. We searched hi and low but coudnt see anything. Then at 1.00am i found the bugger:eyebrows: I was like Steve Irwin:D I grabbed it and through it in a pillow case. After searching Google images i've found that its a corn snake and a beautiful one to:)

neil tt
Excellent, great find, now all you need to do is get a big tank, and make sure its secure. Unlike the last muppet that owned it:d
dazla
I would but the the misses will go mad. I already have a 4ft iguana and thats enough for her:d My mate at work is going to take it, he has snakes so he knows what to do with it. JustGav
Snakes... hell no... don't like them... (Mind you I grew up where most of them were posionous)... I would have gone 'bugger it' and gone back to bed, and then hoped like hell it would make its own way out.

redsupraman82
i found a 3ft californian king snake in the kitchen unit a while back! a bit scary to say the least and my mum was the first to find it..............but however a day or so before i played a trick on her with a rubber snake and at first she thought it was me messing about again, until she went to pick it up and it moved! i managed to get it into a large empty bin until the rspca arrived then when the snake handler got there, he picked it up, and the snake started biting the sh*t out of him.........very funny! although to look at him i think he had been bitten one to many times anyway! dazla
well the snakes gone. My mate was well chuffed, I must admit i never thought I'd like them but after the fiasco i might look into to getting one. It was a pink colour with dark orange spots. Wish I'd of taken a picture now:rolleyes: Not to worry, its gone to a good home:)
juanchan
That only leaves the question, did someone buy it as a "fancy pet", decide it was too much hassle and throw it out the back door, or did it escape? I'd have kept it personally. I spent 6 years trying to persuade my parents to let me have a corn snake, and just as they cracked, my gran moved in and said "NO WAY!!" flukey-lukey
Nice! I used to have 4 corn snakes and a rat snake. They're harmless and don't grow more than 3/4ft (males) the females can grow up to 6ft. Had to give them away when I was about 17/18 because I didn't have enough time to look after them properly
