Dave F Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 Hi guys, Just got the car through the mot ready for JAE, whilst on a drive about an hour ago the brake pedal started to feel strange almost like it clicked. A few minutes later I went to slow down and the pedal went to the floor (only going slow but still scary) and had very little braking power. I pumped the pedal a few times and it felt normal again. I limped it home as I was only two minutes away and now when the engine is running the pedal sinks to the floor but when the engine is off after a few pumps it feels fine again. Cant see any sign of leakage underneath. I flushed through some new fluid late last year a few times and after a while the colour turned dark. Could this be a master cylinder seal failure? You may be able to take it apart & fit new seals, but a new master cylinder would be a batter bet seeing as this is such a safety critical component.
