Just Booked at Jem

SUPRA FLY

Recommended Posts

My car (1994 NA with nearly 50k miles) just got booked at Jem Service to have the follwoing done at these prices:

'A' Service - £189

Timing Belt Change - £225

Fan Belt Change - £63 - They recommended I change this as it will have to be removed any way as part of the timing belt change excersise.

Total - £477 :(

This includes parts, labour and VAT + 10% discount for BBS members

They claim to be experts on Jap imports and their garage is impressive.

Any comments welcome.

It is all inclusive, I use toyadatech - between Southampton and Portsmouth. Some people here have varying views about the place but for service jobs I have found them to be excelent.

I also seem to remember Toyota themselves quoting me around the £180 mark for a cam belt change.

Sorry dont know anywhere in London.

By the way guys you'll need to be member of mkivsupra.co.uk to get the 10% discount at Jem. :stupid:

I think ama go ahead and get it done as have had the car for 6 months now and done 6,000 miles so its my first service on the car.

Get all major work out of the way at a major jap imports garage...and pay  amount this time.

Toyota quoted £180 for a timing belt change? Dam  but have been advised not to take import Sups to Toyota...not sure why

My life with Toyota is easier as I have a UK spec but its the same job so I dont see how they could charge more.

Having said that I wouldnt use them, just using the price as a comparison.

Supras in general, nothing to do with imports :innocent:. They are generally expensive and no more knowledgeable than anywhere else. An A service is the standard one isn't it? In which case £189 is a lot for not much more than an oil change and a few inspections. What exactly are they going to do for that?
