Kranz
Get it recovered by a professional....... unless it contains 'those' sort of films
JustGav
Getting the recovered will cost a fortune... It will probably be under warranty though, so you can get a replacement drive (won't replace the data though)

Whitesupraboy2
I once bought an identical drive on a whim.... changed over the control board and the thing came back to life. Was easy to swap over as well
Pete
I'm sure you still have your originals to restore from though?

On another note i just posted on your lights forum as you have been recommended by the boys on here

robin
Might sound a bit odd but if all else fails try putting it in the freezer for ahwile, if the platters or heads are making contact the contraction of the metal when its very cold can temporarily bring it to life. Just watch out for condensation. I had to do it 3-4 times with my old 13gb hitachi back in the days of mhz and amd k6 processors. It would work for a few minutes until it warmed up. robin
yeah the freezer trick is a last resort. I think it can also help unstable chips run. Semiconductors become alot less resistive at low temps.
