well they came out to look and they said they will let me know next week what is happening. I have recieved a nice new vauxhall astra to drive around until this has all been sorted. If she is written off, i've found the perfect supra to replace her with :)

Yeah - heard about the Astra (was at Phoenix with Mark when you called) - sounded like you were planning to thrash the b*ll*cks off of it! :D

We had a brief discussion about the feasibility of dropping your engine into a Supra...... :eyebrows:

Hope that neck's okay, mate. :stretch:

it's not being registered as a CAT anything as they are paying to get it fixed myself. They said it would cost them between £3.5- £4k to fix, so the guy said to save the hassle they would give me £3.5k to get it sorted myself. My personal injury claim is being handled by my solicitor but they will take a few months.

is that the insurance company saying they will give you £3.5k to fix it yourself?

Never heard of an insurance company doing that before. THey usually expect to see that the work is actually done. Wonder why this is different?

Yeah thats right, not sure why they said it but when i heard the car was being written off, i asked to speak to someone highier up. The top guy in the write off department contacted me and first of all he offered £2.5k but after sending him reciepts for what i've spent and then he agreed to pay the £3.5k i asked for.
