Wez
Ignition break up or something, does it feel like hesitation?
black cat
yes, foot goes down, split second later it happens, only feel it when flooring it.
chrisavila100
I had the same problem shortley after i bought the car 4 years ago! Was told it was down to putting different brands of fuel in the car, so started to use shell optimax(now Vpower) at EVERY fillup and gave her a ecu reset and the car came back to life again! The problem for me was about 1/2 a second delay when flooring the car, and i noticed it more wot throught the gears as every time i changed it would sit there, then 1/2 second later realise i had floored it again! What fuel are you filling up with? Have you tried reseting the ecu? Hope this might help..
Tricky-Ricky
Could also be down to a bit of det, causing the ECU to knock timing back, more likely to happen when at 100% throttle.
black cat
is re-seting ecu taking the efi main relay out? if so i have done this and it made no difference, the day before i had to jump start it cos the battery was dead. takin to turbo fit sat cos i have no idea:blink: and the fuel was total 97 ron dont know what they call it. also i let it run VERY close to empty before filling up, may be some crap from the bottom of the tank is blocking someting, Injecters??? chrisavila100
i would say "total 97 ron" is the first of your probs! You will find most if not all tt owners use, Vpower/bp ulitmate/tesco 99 ron! In my own experinces ive found that using any other fuel has made the car run as you described eairler!(bloody fussy these cars) As i said before i use Vpower, and ONLY Vpower ! nothing else has entered my tank in at least 2 years! I know that sounds a bit anal, but i had the same probs as you and after lots of advice with fuel, ive learn't my lesson! Cheers chris.. P.s when reseting the ecu i pull both EFI fuses, for 5 mins! but a flat battery will reset it also, i think..
Pete
Do you start it regularly when not running it? I guess it could be some bad or stagnant fuel?
Tricky-Ricky
If your using 97 Ron then i stand by my earlier comment.
Class One
Does this hesitation happen al the time or when the engine is cold? When were your plugs last changed/car serviced?
black cat
car can be hot or cold it dont matter.
black cat
feels like when a car over fuels like an old car when choke is out too far?? untill loads of revs then ok.
Guest Chumpalot
I noticed something slightly similar with miine mate. I got caught short and just about made it to a petrol station. Best they had was normal unleaded 95ron. Since I put that in I noticed a hesitation in pulling and a distinct lack of power until much furter up the rev range. Have filled up numerous times since using tesco 99ron and it's definitely feeling more responsive.
